nash61 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Though I was impressed by the uni discussion, I was most impressed by the smoothness of the commentary. I felt like I was watching a real game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. I felt like I was watching a real game. There was a review on Kotaku saying that you could put 2K12 on in a noisy sports bar, and probably a good number of the patrons wouldn't be able to tell it wasn't a live NBA game. I understand why now. Wow.You know, in my day, we had "Double Dribble". Old School Fool Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 NBA's Greatest Mode is what is literally saving NBA 2K12 from being "meh" this year due to the lockout keeping the rosters and NBA Today from being updated and working. I was playing Nuggets/Rockets from 1994, and my mind was blown at them discussing Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, his name change, and his national anthem controversey.
Discogod Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 God, I love those Bucks' unis. I'd love to see them bring them (or any other version of the Irish Rainbow unis) back for a HWC night or twelve...
DeFrank Posted October 15, 2011 Author Posted October 15, 2011 yea i'm not even a huge basketball fan, but I'm getting this game. Freaking amazing. concepts: washington football (2017) ... nfl (2013) ... yikes potd 10/20/12 origin story

CS85 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Holy crap that looks real. That's the first time ever a video game had me fooled thinking it was real life. That's unbelievable, easily the best and smoothest commentary in any sports game yet. The presentation looks incredible, and the environment seems very real. drivethru1986 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I'm not easily impressed with video game commentary but that was among the most impressive things I have ever seen in a game. Even on an iPhone it looks great. I can only imagine what it will be on a 46 inch HD screen.
RedSox44 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Yeah, I got this game and basketball is my 4th favorite sport (after hockey, baseball and soccer). It was between this and FIFA 12, but the NBA's Greatest Mode propelled this to a purchase for me. The smoothness of the commentary and the high quality graphics made this an awesome purchase. To anyone who's on the fence, get the game. You won't regret it.

WSU151 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Played this game using the Wizards the other night...there was also a pretty long discussion on Wizards' new unis, returning to red, white, blue. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

They can't add them yet because of the lockout right? Unless I'm mistaken.

Cujo Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 My two cents: I've always been a fan of the Bucks' old school "Irish rainbow" -- no red.
