I've extended the deadline to November 30. I guess I was expecting a little more interest than I got. The way this is going, I think I might set a deadline for sending in concepts once I get 15 applicants. But that could take a while at this rate.

Please, if you've finished your concepts send them to me so I know that you're committed to this.

Gonna take my home city of Detroit as well. Since Griffinmarlins is planning on doing it already, I think relaxing the guidelines might be smart (especially if you want more entries). Throwing this out there, anything within 100 miles of the major city? If so, I'm in. I am also taking the more unconventional route-- I respect the Wings/Tigers too much to mess with their styles ;)

-Hockey- Windsor Spitfires (5 miles)

-Baseball- Toledo Mudhens (Tigers affiliate, 61 miles)

-Football- Oakland University (31 miles)

-Basketball- Eastern Michigan (11 miles)

Uh oh. I just realized now that this should not have been approved, as you did not use at least 2 pro teams.

However, since I didn't realize this until now, I'll let you off the hook.

But just a reminder for future applicants: make sure you have at least 2 pro teams. I'll be keeping an extra eye out in light of my recent blunder.

And it was stated earlier in the thread that it was only 2 colleges, the other two could be minor leagues as well (from capitalcanuck: "i know that its YOUR city, town, state: pros minors college dosent matter MY city name is a play off of this city song by patrick stump but it could be anything sports in YOUR city.") Hence, the Mudhens and Spitfires will work, at least that was my understanding.

Alright, that makes sense. I may put the minor league teams in the same voting division as the college teams, however. This way the groups would be more even.

Bump. I'm looking for 2 more people, then I'll set a deadline for sending in concepts and getting this show on the road.

But for the remaining 11 applicants that haven't sent in their concepts for baseball particularly (I've received baseball concepts from only Griffinmarlins and Moseph) do not hesitate to do that now.

Bump, as well as an announcement regarding a change in the rules. There will not be two separate polls for voting, but one combined poll. This way the standings will be more accurate, and I don't see the need for two polls with the decreased interest. All other rules stand.

The deadlines have been changed. The deadline for applying is now Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11:59 PM EST. Also, the deadline for sending in baseball concepts for those who have already applied is Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:59 PM EST. So let's get crackin'!

Nice. I didn't miss this. Also, I can't believe no one took New York.

New York City

Baseball: New York Mets (Yankees concept would just be the same as the current set)

Football: Army Black Knights (I live 15 minutes from West Point, and can't touch the Giants and Jets sets)

Basketball: Brooklyn Knights (Post-move New Jersey Nets)

Hockey: New York Islanders (Can't touch the Rangers and Devils)
