kevinmets
"North Carolina Rays" opens up some interesting possibilities for an interlocking "NC" logo, incorporating a ray, or somehow making it into the shape of a ray/putting a hidden ray in the negative space, etc.I like your color scheme (green is great and underused), but I might be tempted to make the light teal more of a light blue, to give some more contrast. Right now the 2 colors are too similar to each other.
hailstateunis
"Carolina Rays" is fine. I like the name. I was talking about the secondary logo, which only includes the northern half of "Carolina". Otherwise, I like the primary. http://www.hailstateunis.com

The name wasn't the problem, but calling the team Carolina and only using the state of North Carolina in the logo kind of sets you up for scrutiny (if this was a real team). Littlem27
A good idea to get around the name problem, name the team the Raliegh Rays. Raliegh being in N Carolina
