Lights Out
But what was Penn State even thinking trying to keep JoePa on as head coach thru the end of the year? They knew he had to go, and go NOW. :censored:ing morons. No, Paterno himself thought he'd be allowed to finish out the year by making that little announcement. The board of directors saw through that maneuver. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/

The_Admiral
Why didn't they fire McQueary? He has to go too. Ah, hell, they're all gone at the end of the year anyway. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Cujo
It'll be another 'black eye' to Penn State if the student mob that rallied around Paterno's home last night decides take to the streets tonight over his firing.
CS85
Why didn't they fire McQueary? He has to go too. Ah, hell, they're all gone at the end of the year anyway. That was my first thought too. Hopefully some of these reporters have the wherewithal to ask this. And agreed, after the reg season is overwith it's house cleaning time.edit: sources say riot police are protecting Paterno's house and will throughout the night. The board of directors saw through that maneuver. That's the best thing the University could have done in this situation. It is good to finally have someone man up and put an end to this chain of cover-ups and people turning the other cheek.Joe Paterno was a great coach. It is difficult to see arguably the most influential coaches in the college football world retire. That has nothing to do with what he didn't do, and for that his legacy will be scarred. Kramerica Industries
Regardless of how much fault Paterno deserves, this was basically a foregone conclusion with the way things were unraveling.Everyone was getting canned. It would be outrageous if that weren't the case.

DG_ThenNowForever
It's not really about Paterno though. He's one player in this scandal, but far from the only one. It'd be a shame if he's the only one this sticks to, because lots and lots more people are culpable. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
