People want revenge, but they also don't want to punish the current players. That's not even possible at this point. You can't fire the whole staff in suspicion and expect Penn State to finish out their season.

The reports of the senior players boycotting the Nebraska game is being attributed to the Penn State campus radio station.

Who is the boycott really helping? -- Nebraska?

And everyone betting on Nebraska. Though if this story is confirmed I'd imagine this game will disappear from most Vegas sportsbooks faster than Paterno's job security.

Some thoughts-

I think it's right Paterno not coach another game. Too much of a distraction, too much of a sideshow.

People need remember that Sanduskey is THE real villain here. Noone else connected to Penn State deserves the kind of villification he does.

Paterno did wrong, has acknowledged he did wrong, and should probably just be left with his conscience for however long he has left. The rest of us should probably just leave him alone and think 'there but for the grace of God go I.'

It's probably safe to assume Penn State's reputation is in tatters. To me, that's enough punishment. The NCAA should probably avoid any further sanction, otherwise you risk punishing a lot of innocent people.

Penn State students need to get a grip, but then so does everyone else. You have a real angry mob at Penn State at the moment, and an angry mob on line. Let the legal process take it's course.

Are you kidding? I want no part of this Penn State team right now, with or without seniors. They're either going to spend the rest of the year playing like emo kittens or berserk dervishes and knowing Nebraska's luck it will be the latter.

Ultimately the right thing to do is to stop it and I totally agree with this post. You don't have to try to beat the hell out of him. Just say "uh, Jerry, whatcha doing." Jerry's reaction would be to stop and run or try to make up some phony lie...and let him run. You've got the kid; call the cops and let the justice system go to work. There's no telling how many future victims that would have saved.

If you let him run, what's to say he won't run right into Paterno's arms, tell him you went crazy and attacked him in a shower? Even if you then called the cops and it went to a trial, it would be your word vs. Paterno's. It might as well be your word vs. God's. Then you'd be the one who's screwed while Sandusky gets off scot-free again.

As the saying goes, dead men tell no tales.

Keep in mind that Paterno knew about Sandusky's inappropriate behavior with boys 4 years earlier. It's very possible that Sandusky's "retirement" in 99 was more like a "get the hell off my staff or I'll take this public". If McQueary calls the cops right then and there it's not far-fetched for anyone who knew about the 98 incident to believe that it happened again.

It's also possible that McQueary blackmailed himself a paid assistant job on the coaching staff for the 2002 season. If that's the case then it's even more disgusting that he didn't do anything, and instead used this to further himself.

If McQueary stops the act, holds Sandusky up, and dials 911, then the law is on his side. Instead he described to an oldman what he saw and the old man, as old people tend to do, edited out the graphic nature when explaining it to the AD. It became a game of phone tag. It's very likely that what the AD heard was a story far less severe and graphic than what McQueary actually saw and so the seriousness of what happened was removed. Lesson that shouldn't need to be taught, if you see an adult raping a little boy, you stop them and call the cops, regardless of your previous relationship with said adult.

What I can't believe is that nobody ever followed up? McQueary never said, "hey what ever happened to Jerry Sandusky? I mean, I did see him inside a little boy." That's not something you just forget about, unless there's something else going on and the cover-up has taken over.

Then again, you weren't one of the young boys getting raped by some perv under the auspices of his "charity" on Penn State property then being left to your fate by people who could have helped you and protected future victims. The only action I've seen so far that seems right is the Board of Trustees having the courage to fire Paterno and the President, and even that's kind of an "it's about time." The response of the student body is a disgrace.

All this "let the legal process take its course"? There's plenty of evidence if one wishes to find and comb through it, certainly enough to take disciplinary action against those who have acknowledged they knew this was going on and did nothing to prevent it from happening again.

An analyst on TV today compared this to the molestations in the Catholic Church and the same "protect the institution, to hell with the victims" mentality. Sadly, it's an apt comparison.

I'm totally disgusted by our sue-happy society these days, but this is one instance in which I hope the victims and their families go after everyone involved and Penn State in civil court and hit them as hard as a jury will allow.

Exactly. And Paterno never followed up (he obviously believed McQueary, or McQueary wouldn't still be on his staff).

There were at least seven grown men who knew about the rape in 2002, and nobody did anything to make sure Sandusky wouldn't do it again. Seven men, who knew that he was a child rapist and had continuing access to at-risk kids. Some of those seven men even knew that he still brought boys to the University's facilities. How many boys were raped between 2002 and last Saturday because those seven men were cowards and opportunists?

If we're not vocal enough about Sandusky on this thread, it's because nobody anywhere is defending him. People are still defending that scumbag Paterno, so it's natural that Paterno would dominate our conversation here.

Now there's a rumor going around now that the Second Mile pimped out the little boys to a network of rich pervert donors. If true, HOLY F*****G S**T!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPK-yW6lU1o

Mark Madden had this story solved and reported in an article back in April for a small newspaper, but got little creedence.

I think it was inevitable that the Second Mile program was a front for wealthy child molesters/rapists to easily acquire the kids. It's absolutely the kind of program that pedophiles flock to.

I am braced for a long day of these horrific reports to come spilling out, the Sandusky thing? Just the beginning for the Second Mile.

Now you're getting donors involved? If that's true, then Penn State football is funded by child prostitution, and it has to be shut down.

It's going to take some time to confirm it if it is true. But if so, I'd say PSU plays out the season this year and takes next year off.

Watching this press conference again from last night.

These reporters all need to be jobless asap. The press conference was basically dominated by homers and Paterno protectors who clearly didn't read the grand jury report (or if they did found it to be false because it wasn't written by Joe Paterno).

Who ARE these people? It's sickening that they are so drunk on the Nittany Lion kool-aid and refuse to look at the bigger issues.

Somebody on the radio this morning said it best, this place is Jonestown, PA.

Find these homer sycophants and fire them.

If these allegations brought up by Madden are true - and at this point, they are uncorroborated allegations, and a long leap from the grand jury report, so I feel "if" is a crucial word here - then just burn the whole thing down. Salt the earth. The allegation here is that a man used his success in and access to a college football program - along with the insular, fawning, protective atmosphere such a program in an isolated college town provides - to create a child prostitution ring under the guise of charity.

Christ.

And probably not by choice, either. The NCAA will have to get involved.
