Handcrafted with meticulous detail, the gold-leaf helmets combine Notre Dame's rich football heritage with the program's bright future. The helmets have been handcrafted by Troy Lee Designs of Corona, Calif.When was the last time they did this? TFoA Posted November 7, 2011 Share Posted November 7, 2011 I like the helmet overall, but the mismatching greens on the shamrock/facemask are throwing me off.That's what keeps this from being especially cool, but for now, it's a nice look and a good job on a modern take of the throwback helmets.Also, this has got to be the first time Notre Dame has worn 4 different helmet designs in one season. First they had the original helmets, then they tweaked that, then there are the throwback helmets, and now this. Even Notre Dame isn't immune to this crazy uniform era that we're in.
