FiddySicks 11,180 Posted January 31, 2012 You know, when it comes to American sports, fans often make some really dumb comments and have some absolutely asinine opinions. But of all American sports fans, basketball fans have BY FAR the dumbest comments and opinions of them all. It's so bad it actually makes the whole sport hard to watch. Just face it, love him or hate him, Lebron is one of the most special players the game has ever had and has a potential ceiling that's matched by very few in the history of the game. The vitrol towards Lebron to the point where it causes some to dismiss him like he's a scrub comparable to Anderson freaking Varejao is just crazy.
Kevin W. 1,950 Posted January 31, 2012 Let's see him win a ring first and then we can start making the comparisons to Michael and Kobe.
LeGooo 0 Posted January 31, 2012 has a potential ceiling that's unmatched by very few in the history of the gameI hope you meant matched. There certainly aren't many, if any, with as much potential, both realized and yet to be realized, as LeBron
FiddySicks 11,180 Posted January 31, 2012 has a potential ceiling that's unmatched by very few in the history of the gameI hope you meant matched. There certainly aren't many, if any, with as much potential, both realized and yet to be realized, as LeBronYeah I kind of stumbled with the wording of that statement, but yes. That's what I meant. Ok sure, he hasn't won a title yet. But he's been to two Finals before Jordan went to his first. Why that fact is ignored is even more ridiculous. And for fans like CS85 who seem to need this strange reassurance, Jordan is the best player ever, bar none. That won't ever change. If not for dipping out of basketball to fufill some crazy dream his dad had for him to play baseball after he was killed (which if not for the strike would've come to fruition) his numbers would've been even more unbelievable. Damn, I'm barely a basketball fan and even I can see this.
Kevin W. 1,950 Posted January 31, 2012 It's quite simple: unless he wins a championship, the lack of a ring will always nag him. Every conversation about Dan Marino always includes "Yeah, but he never won a Super Bowl."
LeGooo 0 Posted January 31, 2012 Let's see him win a ring first and then we can start making the comparisons to Michael and Kobe.Even when he wins a ring, all the haters will dismiss it and say he did it on Wade's team. I'm certainly not going to compare him to Michael at this point, and highly doubt I ever will. However, Lebron>KobeAnd CS85, just leave this thread
Kevin W. 1,950 Posted January 31, 2012 However, Lebron>Kobe You can't really think that. Surely you're just saying it for the sake of the argument.

CS85 10,595 Posted January 31, 2012 And CS85, just leave this threadChrist, another one to the blocked users list. One of James' issues in Miami has been to figure out how to be part of a team, rather than someone who happens to be wearing the same uniform as 4 other guys on the court.

WSU151 9,734 Posted January 31, 2012 But he's been to two Finals before Jordan went to his first. Why that fact is ignored is even more ridiculous.Because it's not a fact. Jordan had two NBA titles after his 8th year (rookie in 84-85, rings in 90-91 and 91-92). LeBron has been to two NBA Finals after 8 years in the league (now in his 9th season).

Might have taken longer, but it wasn't impossible.
Lights Out 4,903 Posted January 31, 2012 He was never going to win a title in Cleveland, let's be realistic now. That organization had no idea how to build a real title contender around LeBron, from Gilbert on down.
