Monta Ellis better make the team this year, among Western Conference SGs, he's second in scoring, 1st in assists (1.3 apg ahead of 2nd), 2nd in steals, and 1st in double-doubles

A case could be made for David Lee as well, among Western Conference PFs, he's 4th in scoring, rebounding, and double-doubles. If he was put at center, which he can play and often does for the Warriors, he would be 1st in scoring, 3rd in rebounding, and 3rd in double-doubles

This will probably be the first All-Star Game since 1997 that a Spurs player won't be on the All-Star Roster...*sighs* Here's hoping Parker can slip in.

I'm more interested to see if the Nuggets will get anybody in.

They would be the second seed in the West if the season ended today. I think they are going to be very motivated against the Lakers tonight. I don't think a team like that would like anything more then to beat two teams in back to back nights with four combined all-star starters on their roster.

Also Greg Oden had another knee surgery earlier today. No timetable on his return.

Kenyon Martin is a Clipper.

What's he got left in the tank? Just curious.

My guess would be not much. He's 34 years old now and is coming off the worst season of his NBA career.

He's also nowhere near the defensive stopper or rebounder he was earlier in his career.

The Clippers though have no bench at all at the power forward or center position. They need Jordan and Griffin to play 35+ minutes a night in order to have a chance most games. There's no big man on that team outside of Griffin or Jordan that's averaging more then 5 points a game, so he will help them out in that regard. I just wouldn't expect any miracles out of him. He's a bench player without question at this stage in his career. If all goes according to plan he'll be able to take some of pressure off of Griffin and Jordan and be able to give them a little more rest. Right now they don't have anybody that can do that. The combo of Randy Foye, Brian Cook, Soloman Jones and Trey Thompkins is just not working. Nobody in that group is shooting over 40% from the floor.

We'll see what he has left in the tank starting on Monday against the Magic. He's already a lot better than Solomon Jones or Brian "The One Man Lead-Blower" Cook.

Now, if we could somehow land JR Smith or, even more unlikely, Wilson Chandler, we'd have a workable bench. I know Smith has somewhat of a reputation for being a chucker, but I will take his chucking in a landslide over Randy Foye's.

Who in the Blue Hell is Jeremy Lin??

Probably one of the best stories in NBA.

First player in the NBA to come of Taiwanese decent, went to Harvard which doesn't give out athletic scholarships and then went undrafted.

Guys like that I root to do well. Probably is never going to be anything more then a marginal player just trying to stay on an NBA roster, but I'm very happy with the night he had.

Lin is an ENORMOUS deal in the Bay Area, as he is from Palo Alto and started his career with the Warriors.

I've heard Wilson Chandler is intent on coming back to the Nuggets. You guys can have JR. Great shooter when his head's right.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Martin's role with the Clippers, if nothing else, will be for his toughness and whatever statisical contribution he can provide, much like with Reggie Evans and his rebounding.

Foye is okay, just inconsistent this season, and with Mo Williams providing nearly all of the scoring off the bench, Foye is sort of rendered useless at this point. I don't think Thompkins is all that bad, since he's a rookie (a second-rounder at that) and he really doesn't get that much playing time. He can shoot the 3, but I hope that he doesn't turn into another Brian Cook--incredibly useless if he can't knock down outside shots. Other than that, I can't disagree with what you said.

Man, we stink. The Lakers just aren't good this year. Kobe is amazing. A walking legend, and easily one of the best, if not the best, in the game right now. Gasol just shoots long jumpers and whenever he drives into the lane he just throws the ball up, yells and hopes for a foul to be called. Bynum is on the cusp of being dominant, but for some reason, he just shrinks in crunch-time.

If Stern hadn't vetoed that trade, or hell, if never even tried the trade we'd be so much better off right now.

If the Lakers can somehow get Deron Williams, we'd be a much, much better team. I'd rather get Deron than CP3 only because CP3 makes the Clippers competitive, and the Lakers can still challenge for the title with a trio of Deron, Kobe and Dwight.

Until we do something like that, the Lakers will be an above average team, but not elite.

I said it when he was hired, Mike Brown is not a good coach.

EVERYBODY said that, or at least the people who actually pay attention. Mike Brown is basically a slightly better version of Mike Woodson: Great defensive head coach, horrible offensive coach. His plays resemble :censored: you'd see at the Run-&-Shoot.

Exactly. We have absolutely no offense flow. We should have kept the triangle, or brought in an assistant coach who knows offense at the very least. Like in the NFL when the head coach runs the defense, he'll bring in a coordinator to run the offense. We should have done something like this.
