Stunner! The Bears have just cut Hurd.

I guess the Bears will have to find a new dealer for their special teams unit.

Okay, then tell us what in the hell good these alleged random drug testings of the the players are doing if they aren't finding the very basic illegal drugs among them? Unless someone's implying Hurd's clientele is strictly non-players. I find that highly improbable given the sheer suggested volume his operation was putting out that none of his customers were players.

If it turns out that there is a substantial player list as his customers then why is it that none of them have been caught with a random test. Usually when a player is caught, the NFL make a big production out of it. Perhaps it will come out that these tests are either not looking for recreational drugs only performance enhancing ones, they are not that reliable or people are warned in advance and have countermeasures. In any event Roger Goodell's whole big stick waving reputation may take a serious and embarrassing hit if he's laying fines on players who draw flags on the field, but has missed an entire plethora of other players misdeeds off it. Logic dictates that he would have to lay out gigantic fines and suspensions to guilty players. How deep would this go? Would all players get the same treatment? Or would players on preferred teams or preferred stars get leniency?

Before any other details come out, I believe Hurd justifiably earned himself a lifetime ban. Being a user of drugs is bad enough, but to use your position and fortunes to enterprise this poison to others is something that should be considered irredeemable in the NFL's eyes.

We all have our little faults. Mine's in California.

I really want to see that list.

How awesome would it be if Tim Tebow was on that list??

One can only pray...
