Has anyone here actually seen the new uniforms? Some of you guys have connections, right?

Apparently someone has seen the Packers uni. Not sure if this is true or what it means but here you go.

Packers uniforms should be neither of those things. In fact, other than a team named for space travel or clowns, no football uniform should be "futuristic and fun". I love the bright colors of the original Bucs set and the classic Oilers look, but I wouldn't even consider those uniforms "fun".

They will ALL be leaked before the 3rd, I can pretty much guarantee that. (Thank you social media!)

I'll get slaughtered for this, but... the Packers are going modern? Finally! Braisher stripes simply do not work on today's shrinking sleeves.

I've been saying this publicly for three and a half years - there is an easy solution to that seemingly-intractable problem.

And I'm someone who was actually sorry that Ron Wolf didn't pull the trigger on his 1994 change.

A grain of salt is too much to take this with. If the Packers ever went modern, you'd see demonstrations outside of Lambeau that'd make what happened at the Capitol look like a family picnic.

Now, I can't say I'd be too upset if they did something like this, but I don't see how the Packers could get away with anything that wasn't at least based on a throwback. Even then, I think that when you've won titles with three distinctive generations of players wearing the same basic uniforms (as the Packers have), you stay with that look.

Modern, in the case of the NFL/NIke partnership, doesn't have to mean a redesign.

Nike has put a lot of investment behind its apparel and footwear innovations, so with a platform as big as the NFL you can expect that they'll incorporate a lot of that technology into the league's uniforms. That could mean putting Flywire stabilization onto the jersey collars like they did with college jerseys. The Oregon Ducks Rose Bowl uniforms featured some new fabric technology called "chain maille mesh" that could find its way to the NFL.

These are things that would change the look of a uniform ? making it appear "modern," I suppose ? without an actual redesign.

Yes, and while those changes can be consider minor and "Nike not going wild" to most people, they can destroy a look. For instance, if they put the Packers in a garabge template like this with "space age" materials in certain areas which discolor at the slightest hint of humidity, it will make them look like crap. Nike's "advanced materials" schtick is garbage. If the materials are so advanced, use them in a traditional football template. This template is saying "look at us! We have different fabrics!"

Hey! My tweet!

Maybe if I can, I will try to stop by 49ers HQ on April 1 and maybe see if I can get a look at the new unis. But it will be harder since there is construction going on.

Go A's!

I'm glad the Packers didn't change to that look in 1994. The no-stripes look is pretty bad. Like Walmart cheap replica jersey bad.

EDIT: My apologies to Goth - I didn't realize you put that concept together; I thought it was Ron Wolf's concept that you got a hold of and posted. Didn't mean to offend you.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

if happened they would've already gone back to the green and yellow...the notre dame/navy/pitt knock off was so derivative and 90's (swapping yellow for you would've seen so much green and yellow throwback gear that the change would've been enivitable.

I'm pulling for the return back to the full sleeve pattern and striped socks and plain collars

I'd love to see that, guest, especially if thu go back to Lombardi's original road uniforms.

yeah those ahman green turkey day unis were pretty sweet...the only thing that I'd change would be to have the stripes in the material (sublimated?) rather than screened...frankly the nfl should ban all screened sleeve stripes they look shiny and cheap like heat pressed numbers did...save the screening and heat pressing for pop warner already

An easy solution that will only work for the 5 players on every team who wear undersleeves.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry
