Fifty8_Black O
Members who've seen the set swear the helmet will be silver.Correct me if I'm wrong but only one member who has actually seen the design said the helmet was staying silver but "only if something hadn't changed" implying there was a chance it may not be silver (no matter how slight of a chance it's still a chance. Trust me I'm not naive enough to expect anything other than a silver one, just saying.) Everyone else saying the helmet would be silver was basing that off the fact that there was a small grey box under dark backgrounds with the logo in it. So not that I don't trust the member in the know ( CDixion I believe) but I am waiting until there is a chorus of confirmations or an official announcement. CubsFanBudMan
The contrast between the black and carolina blue of the Panthers is 10x the amount of contrast between the black and 90% black on the Southern Utah helmet... thus, in theory, the chances of it working are 10x greater. I think you might want to check your math there - ten times zero is... what, exactly? You can see it on the style sheet. The small black logos are completely unintelligible when placed on a black background. At any distance, the same would happen on a helmet. If they were to do that, it would be staggeringly bad design.Looking at the style sheet on my phone, the logo looks no more intelligible small on that silver background than it does small on black. If it's the same logo, the insides are going to look the same smaller no matter what color you put around it. Nothing about the silver seems to draw out the small silver details. All the small versions look like blobs to me:
FiddySicks
BeautifulNow if they were putting the logo on a black helmet, which would be absolutely fantastic IMO, the lack of a key line would be totally acceptable. But if not, the lack of a key line is a HUGE mistake. Man, that helmet looks freaking awesome. It'd easily be the most unique helmet in the league. TFoA
I like it:The actual logo looks MUCH better. It is indeed an upgrade, which means that I now feel bad about jumping the gun in the beginning of this thread.

If Nike is going for a unique look for the Panthers, copying the Jaguars isn't the way to do it.

The mental picture I have of what a black Carolina Panthers helmet would look like is a bit different than those two (MUCH larger logo which is more of a die cut look than a traditional vinyl sticker) but it'd probably just be a traditional decal, and in that case it wouldn't be as unique as I originally thought. Quillz
Weren't the Broncos the first team to do the "logo blends into the background/helmet" effect? Because they have a variation that uses black instead of blue.

Showtime029
Folks....the logo has NOT changed, nor has the color. You are comparing textile color on the gloves vs the version of color use in print. Also, look closely to the current actual on field helmet logos and the fabric logo patch on the sleeves. They are lighter than the helmet color and jersey color. A bluish, silver tint. Don't compare it to the replica jerseys and other merchandise sold publicly. The changes coming are either a silver helmet and probably pants OR if they did change the primary color to that lighter shade of blue that people are claiming is different, it would be closer to a power blue on the jerseys. I don't see that happening but I also hate to see dark navy jerseys as they are almost black and their are to many teams in the league now using navy or black and primary colors. That's incorrect.Someone on these forums that is in the know already admitted that the 2012 Seahawks logo was getting only a tweak and not a change. I can't see anything else different that would justify this so-called tweaking except that the denim blue looks to be replaced with either silver or a new custom sliver/blue. That would explain his tweak comment. That's correct.

Looks better than on a black helmet, imho. Silver helmets are a beautiful thing when done right. Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. Quillz
I have to say the lack of a keyline is growing on me. I think the logo against blue looks sharp:

And I'm all for taking away unnecessary features of designs.

I'm curious if they'll keep their helmet striping, which I like a lot as a unique feature. Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. Legend
It kinda runs together on the blue background without the white outline. I like how you put the white line better. Nice work.
