evanmaldonado
Congrats to the Mariners pitching staff. I kind of think it's more impressive than one player throwing one. I have no idea why, but it's cool to see
DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
Congrats to the Mariners pitching staff. I kind of think it's more impressive than one player throwing one. I have no idea why, but it's cool to seeHarold Reynolds and Mitch Williams were just debating that on MLB Network... It's definitely one of those sports bar debates where there is probably no wrong answer, but me personally I still think one player going 9 hitless is more impressive. Cujo
One starter going 9 whole innings of no-hit baseball, or trotting out six fresh pitchers to combine for a no-no... This debate isn't even close.
HolyStroke
1 pitcher going all 9 is far more impressive, IMO
pmoehrin
I think its more impressive for a starter as well just because of the stamina required to do it and you don't get the benefit of preparing for righty/lefty matchups.
infrared41
Seattle just threw the 10th combined no-hitter in MLB history. And after the game, some reporter from Root Sports was interviewing Tom Wilhelmsen. She starts the interview by telling Wilhelmsen that he just closed out what was only the tenth ?combined no-hitter? in MLB history. She follows that up with ?So Tom, have you ever been involved in a game like this before?? Yeah genius, he was involved in three of the nine previous combined no-hitters. Despite the astronomical odds against it, tonight made four times that Tom Wilhelmsen was involved in a combined no-hitter. Anyway, it was fun watching the Mariners pull that off tonight. Gotta love MLB Extra Innings.

Gotta love MLB Extra Innings.I believe baseball sideline reporters sole purpose in life is to just waste time by asking moronic questions that nobody cares about. I've yet to hear a single baseball sideline reporter say something that I really cared about as it related to the game. And if it is something relative to the game my first thought is why couldn't you just have one of the announcers say it? I would say need look no further then Vin Scully to see how you can manage a broadcast without somebody on the field.

Sport
and the Reds beat Detroit on a walk-off squeeze play. So that was pretty neat.
Seadragon76
I don't know which is more impressive, throwing the no-no or the fact that six M's pitchers combined to throw a no-no against the NL best Dodgers. It's good that they can do it, and even better when someone other then King Felix can do it. BigBubba
Anyone have any post season predictions for this MLB season? I have mine here. Let me know what you guys think Sorry, but there's no way the Indians have at least 10 more wins than every AL East team. Nobody cares about your humungous-big signature. FiddySicks
Quick MLB.com question:As a resident in the Phoenix area, why are the MLB Free Game of the Day webcasts featuring the Diamonbacks have the television broadcasts blackout?Because even though they're free, they still have to follow the broadcasting rules. I subscribe to the premium service and still can't get Giants or A's games despite being over 200 miles away from either team. Only time I could get Yankee games was when they were on Fox, local TV, the ESPN Sunday night game or playing the Mets.

Resulted in NLCS blackouts and could've been a problem if the Yankees made it to the World Series. All in all, that sounds like a friggen joke. Also, I know someone in Tallahassee who can't watch the Rays there despite being over 250 miles away from Tropicana Field. Yet I can watch the Marlins and I'm only about 250 miles away from Miami. Weird stuff.

For example, where I live in Ohio is considered to be part of the Cleveland, Detroit, and Cincinnati markets. The best I can figure is it has something to do with the following. We get Toledo TV stations here and we're right on the line between being considered part of the Toledo market. Toledo is considered in the Detroit market so all Tigers games are blacked out on my MLB Extra Innings and MLB.tv packages. Which would be fine if we got their games locally, but we don't. So I never get to watch the Tigers. FOX Sports Ohio has the Reds and FOX Sports Ohio is carried on our local cable. So I can watch the Reds on "regular TV" on FOX Sports Ohio. Finally, and at least this one makes sense, we're considered part of the Cleveland DMA and as such they figure we get Indians games locally anyway. My thought is if you're dropping the money to see these games, you should be able to watch all of them. Period.
