Dickey is indeed incredible. So far, he's put up a career-low 1.04 WHIP and 3.19 FIP, while also maintaining an excellent 2.91 SIERA. He is absolutely an NL Cy Young candidate right now, I'd even go as far as saying he's the favorite. He dominated my Rays today, but I ain't even mad.

I'm going to have to read a Bill James book before reading any more of your posts in this thread, man.

But, yeah, Dickey is challenging the definition of an elite MLB pitcher right now. He's been nearly unhittable.

So I haven't seen much of the Astros this season, but watching them the last two nights vs the Giants, all that's been running through my head is this.

This team is absolutely God awful. They've given up 7 runs through three innings tonight, and last night their starting pitcher left with an injury early trying to catch a pretty routine pop up in between thrid and home, which all six infielders missed. They're making the Giants look like the 27 Yankees.

No kidding! On top of currently beating the f-ck out of the 'Stros 10-0, Matt Cain's got a perfect game going headed into the 7th.

And here I was thinking a one hit, no walk, 12 strikeout complete game would be the best pitched game of the night.

No hits, no walks and 14 strikeouts through eight innings for Matt Cain.

If they are god awful then what does that make the Cubs, Padres, or any other team that has a crap record? If you would watch you can tell this team is improved since their 50 some odd win last year. So If you are going to judge a team don't do it off 2 games and given these are their worst two games of the year.
