2012 MLB Season

It's crazy how many people just discount the importance of swing mechanics in becoming a good hitter. Before landing in Toronto, Bautista had a horrible swing, which began too late and put too much burden on his shoulders. When he got to Toronto, Cito Gaston and Dwayne Murphy fixed the irregularities in his swing, allowing him to show his true potential as a power hitter.

Surely this is a much more plausible explanation than Bautista deciding to use PED's in a sports climate that is very unfriendly to juicers, while somehow managing to not screw up and get caught even once during his SIXTEEN tests to date. Remember, Bautista was a textbook journeyman before coming to Toronto, and the Jays literally represented his last chance. I find it hard to believe he'd risk throwing that chance away by cheating.

People just need to accept the fact that Bautista is just a naturally strong guy and a very good hitter. Credit the Jays' staff for seeing that potential and fixing his flawed swing.

Just quoting this for truth. Changing your swing and fixing a bunch of bad habits CAN really change your results. As someone who's completely overhauled his swing this offseason, I can speak wonders to just how much of a difference it makes.

On a side note:

The Marlins will be moving their home dugout. At Sun Life Stadium, it was on the 1st base side. At the new ballpark, it will be on the 3rd base side. I don't know what you will do with that, but I'm just letting you know.

I absolutely hate when teams do that. Come on front office, why a 3rd base side home dugout?

Both the Cubs and the White Sox have 3rd base dugouts. And pretty much every team in Illinois in lower levels of baseball that I've seen do the same thing. It wasn't until I went to a Brewers or Cardinals game that I started to realize that every team besides the Cubs and Sox had 1st base dugouts.

For the Marlins, Sun Life Stadium had a longer 1st base side, and the new Marlins baallpark has a longer 3rd base side. True, not all ballparks have the home dugout on the longer baseline, but that's my most logical explination on the switch.

The A's home dugout is on the 3rd base side as well

I saw a list on Wikipedia of home team dugouts, and I believe it was fairly even, a little in favor of 1st base if I rememeber correctly

Edit: According to Wikipedia, the Diamondbacks, Cubs, White Sox, Indians, Tigers, Angels, Dodgers, A's, Pirates, Giants, and Jays all have their home dug out on the 3rd base side

I'm totally just waiting for the fish tank there at that stadium

Just look at how ridiculous it is in video game form http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-marlins-mlb-12-the/726502 :P

That's a really unrealistic animation. Fans won't sit behind it, it will just be empty blue padded seats. How did they miss that?

the worst helmets design to me is the Jacksonville jaguars hamlets from 1995 to 2012 because you can't see the logo vary wall

Oh boy... What can I say that can make me give a damn about the season? I know the Mariners are pretty much toast from the word 'go'.

Yeah, yeah. King Felix is still there... But for how long? I know for a fact that if things go to hell early on, then the dumbass of a GM will have no choice but to shop King Felix around to suitors (Hell, why not the Yankees since they already have Pineda).

I would like to see 70-80 wins for the M's... but I have a feeling that it might be stretch if that woefully anemic offense rears its ugly head once again.

This is my spot in line for San Francisco Giants FanFest TWO HOURS before it opens. This is the line for the front gate! And the line stretches behind me at least another mile.

The giants are too poor and small market to sign both Lincecum and Cain my a$$

Few teams have a $20 million mortgage payment to make every year because they were forced to privately finance. The Giants will have upper mid market payroll figures until AT&T is paid off in 2018.

Yeah, most teams just rob municipalities blind. That's the American way.

As for grass at the Skydome, it might be what the Blue Jays need to do in order to compete. Turf is out. Nobody wants to play on it. It might mean losing other event dates, but the rest of the parks in the majors have no problem making baseball their priority for 81 days a year. Now that Rogers owns the Air Canada Centre, maybe they'll feel better about moving concerts there. Retrofitting the Skydome--as much as possible--into an actual ballpark and not a big concrete omni-thing might be the best bet for getting Toronto a bona fide park, since I don't see a brand-new one coming up in the next 20, 25 years.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Jeremy Guthrie was traded from the Orioles to the Rockies for Matt Lindstrom and Jason Hammel.

Speaking of the Rockies, does anyone know how good they are supposed to be this year?

And the D Backs are quite a bit better than the Giants, IMO. The Giants pitching staff is better, but I think Arizona's staff improved this off season. The Giants bats are still just as brutal as the last two seasons, unless Angel Pagan and Melky Cabrera have big years and the youngsters play out of their minds good. That's not an impossible order, but it's still a pretty tall one.

Either way, I can't wait to ditch this stupid freaking D Backs sig and rep my black and orange again!

Josh Hamilton and Eminem have something in common.

Yup.

Im gonna say it now. I think losing CJ Wilson is a huge part of this. Hamilton at least had someone to be sober with.

I think the death of that fan probably had some role in it.

Hamilton and his addictions are deeper than either the loss of wilson, the death of the fan or Johnny Narron going to MIL. Today, John Daniels said Even if Narron was still under contract he would not have been on town as his off-season home is in NC.

Hamilton's wife was not by his side this afternoon.

As I said before, his relapse has nothing to do with teammates but more with the father-in-law refused to work for the team.

Rumors are that Josh had sex with another woman which someone recorded on their phone in the restroom.
