When all the talk the next day at the water cooler is about the ice condition during a preseason game at 1st Mariner Arena, then you can surely remove Baltimore from the future expansion (relocation?) list:

Washington Examiner.

MSNBC

Sloan says the ice was melting into puddles right from the opening faceoff.

“It was new ice, so I don’t think it had time to totally solidify…Big chunks (of ice) come out and you’re down to the concrete. If a guy catches a toe in there and twists a knee or something, it could be pretty ugly.”

There's no world in which the Predators are better than the Wings and the Blackhawks. No world I wanna live in, at least. That roster blows goats for free. Also, no way the Flames finish dead last with the Stars and Coyotes being as bereft as they are.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I wonder if the boards at the MTS center will have ads painted on them in time for the beginning of the regular season.

They should. (I hope so, anyway)

Of course they will. It would be so awesome to see them blank, but that would never, ever happen these days.

The Rangers would sometimes have blank boards or blank sections of boards for preseason games, or sometimes just a name of a sponsor in a very generic black font.

Now for the next few years they won't have ANY preseason games whatsoever anyway.

4 fights and were only in the second in Winnipeg. Wow.

Thank God there's TSN Jets (bow) !

I saw the first couple of minutes and saw Byufglin level someone about 4 seconds into the game. It's great to see a playoff-like atmosphere for a freaking preseason game...

Yes, yes it is.

I think the Wild will be playoff contenders but my Stanley Cup pick is Flyers over Sharks with these teams being Stanley Cup Contenders:

Sabres

Blackhawks

Kings

Capitals

Penguins

Canucks

Flames

Bruins

Red Wings

Lightning

Hey, they had a great first half of last season before apparently the talk of selling the team began... what's to say they can't finish it this year?

Well, Thank you!

If everything clicks. Kiprusoff will need to be much better, Brent Sutter needs to learn how to play Jay Bouwmeester. Nobody just stops scoring 15 goals and offensively drop off so much, Iginla continues to click with Tanguay. One thing we have that a lot of teams wish is a good group of secondary scorers. Bourque, Glencross, Jokinen, Morrison, Moss and now Stempniak. Making the playoffs isn't out of the question, but it's probably going to be tough to continue to stay a float as such a veteran team. One problem for the last couple years is staying healthy in the last 20 games or so, losing Morrison and Moss last year really hurt.

Defensively I guess it's probably one of the more solid groups out there, with only one liability being Cory Sarich, and if he's healthy he's not half bad. Bouwmeester is going to played, like he was in Florida finally, and Mark Giordano is starting to earn the respect as a bonafide number 1 paring guy. Losing Regehr kinda stung but I believe Chris Butler will step in and do a fine job, a couple Eastern Conference coaches even said that Buffalo may end up regretting losing him.

Maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic, but after a Summer of talk surrounding how this team will finish dead last or near the bottom, gets kinda sickening.

While I hate the Wings too, your ability to provide constant updates when a Wings player does something negative or ability to inflict your Wings hate into every single conversation regarding anything Red Wings ever (or hockey-related in many cases) is extremely annoying.

Then put me on ignore... problem solved.
