DaytonBlue
Just announced on NBA TVLogo:I think it's kind of plain, but at least it's not this dandy I found, which looks like something the Mets would borrow when they host an ASG: "I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be." -Peter Gibbons RIP Demitra #

DaytonBlue
Yes they did, in 2006. Makes no sense to me. Note to all cities: Next time you get extorted into putting up a lot of public money for a stadia, try to get a guarantee of a Super Bowl, All-Star game, etc.I'm also surprised Houston didn't try to match Dallas by having the game at Reliant Stadium. Their first all-star game was at the Astrodome. According to Wikipedia, "Portland, Sacramento, Toronto, Memphis and Oklahoma City are the only current NBA cities that have not yet hosted an NBA All-Star Game."It also said though that Toronto is hosting in 2014, which can't make sense if they just officially made Houston the 2013 host today. Sacramento needs an arena, they may not want to deal with border issues in Toronto, and MEM and OKC are still relatively young in the league. But why Portland has never hosted is beyond me. DaytonBlue
It was on a pro hoops site, so probably not. But ya never know with the Mets. WSU151
They keep getting it because there are hardly any cities that bid on the NBA All-Star Game. This is the truth. I always remember Pat Croce (former Sixers owner) from 10 years ago say that he would never bid on an NBA All-Star Game again for Philadelphia. Just not worth it. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
WJMorris3
I think regardless of bidding, Toronto should be the host in 2017, but that's just me.

hormone
Man, the city of Houston and Miami must have professional designers on hand for all the all-star games/Super Bowls they get. It seems like it's every other year. I don't get excited about the NBA all stars logos and unis. They are usually pretty bad.

matthew823
Just looks like a quick integration of the basic idea behind the Rockets logo. I would not expect it to be the final version. Is this just the NBA's way of saying, "Sorry we vetoed a trade for no good reason and condemned you to being a terrible basketball team for the next 2-3 years"? Krona
Plenty of hotels near the arena, plus fantastic (free) light rail that covers the downtown area. It's a shame Portland hasn't hosted. Fantastic fans and a jewel of a city on the West coast. An ungodly amount of strip clubs and weather are the only negatives, although Febuarys are typically pleasant in Portland and NBA players love strippers... MadmanLA
The NBA did say, after Los Angeles was announced as the 2011 host city, that they'll like to have a rotation of select cities to host the All-Star game. A lot of owners and cities don't want the hassle to host these All-Star weekend, because the NBA supervises every aspect of those weekends. Lights Out
I'm thinking/hoping it's just a bland filler logo, like they've done in past years: POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/

dbadefense1990
Didn't they JUST host one? Weak. It'll be a 7-year span between ASGs for them (2006 to 2013), just like what happened here in LA (2004 to 2011). But still, the NBA is being lazy at picking a host city.
