Baseball grey uniforms

I don't mind the grey but I see that many people hate it. Will Major League Baseball stop using grey road uniforms? If they did I'd like to see them keep the grey pants for the road teams.

No Grey uniforms are part and parcel with baseball as part of the tradition of the game. A few teams tried doing away with them in the 70's but it didn't last long.

Teams will keep the road grey so they can wear and sell color alternates. Seems most teams have a color alt.

I'm not disagreeing with you on how good they look, but quite a few teams used powder blues:

  • Blue Jays
  • Reds (I could've sworn I saw a picture of them)
  • Expos
  • Cardinals
  • Braves
  • Mariners
  • Twins
  • Royals
  • Rangers
  • White Sox
  • Brewers
  • Phillies
  • Cubs

Some teams wore them for 10+ years, so I wouldn't say "it didn't last long".

I don't think the Reds ever wore powder blue. That'd be kinda weird if they did.

Okay, I admit to not knowing everything, but please explain to me when the Cincinnati Reds wore powder blue.

Both you and Griffin are correct. I saw a picture similar to (but not) this and mistook the grey for powder blue because of the Sun's reflection.

My dislike of gray only extends to college football and basketball unis. I do love the powder blue road unis of baseball's past, but they reflect the past now and would be hard to imagine a team going back to them full time.

To me it really depends on the teams color set and history. The newer teams with lots of colors in it's set don't really need to use the grey's the older classic teams with less color options should use still use grey.

I will also say that the Reds would've looked great in powder blues, but I was just seeing if I missed something that you knew about.

personally i find road grays to be drab and boring and extremely dated, by about 60 years. I know it's tradition and we all know how we all like to have wank sessions over anything retro. to me it comes across as being stuck in the past trying to hold on to an illusion of an america that doesn't exist.
