FiddySicks
I figured this would go better here than the lounge.Earlier tonight I was looking at a list of national sports and came across a sport called Kabaddi. After reading the rules I was pretty confused, and after watching a YouTube video on it, I'm even more confused. I kind of pride myself on my sports knowledge, but I have NO IDEA what's going on here. Basically, it seems like a big game of tag and hold your breath.Kabaddi explainedhttp://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=FrtyQ1uSRB4Can anyone explain this to me? I don't really get it And when I say obscure or unknown, I mean from a western perspective. I also don't really mean these crazy obscure sports like taser soccer or anything (but if you want to include them, feel free), I mean sports that are actually really popular or national sports. Anyone else got any more? On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
DEAD!
I've heard of Kabaddi for a while, but, still can't figure out what's going on. Another one that had intrigued me in the past: Sepak takraw. It's like volleyball, but WITHOUT using any part of your arm. I saw, I came, I left.
TornadoGTS
Whatever it is, it will probably be on ESPN 8, "The Ocho". Facebook: CustomSportsCovers Twitter: CSCovers Quote No because when the Irish came to Ireland and first came in contact with the leprechaun people, they didn't take their land away and force them to move west. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms. Breakwood
Well I guess Cricket counts here. It's probably the 2nd or 3rd most popular sport in the World but outside of the commonwealth and subcontinent, nobody seems to know anything about it.It's actually a very interesting sport to follow if you like the tactics and statistics of baseball. When people from North America think of cricket they usually only know it lasts forever. They're right about international test matches which CAN last 5 days. There are also 2 one day versions. One Day Internationals which last about 7 hours or so and T20 matches which last 3 hours. There's actually a T20 world cup this year. Canada starts it's qualifying run next week in the UAE. Magnus
Yeah, I prefer watching sports that have defined period limits, so at least I have some reasonable idea when it will end.Kabaddi looks like some combination of wrestling, red rover, and tag to me. Luigi
i saw sepaktakraw on espn 2 a few weeks ago. The skill required to play the game amazed me. Seriously, playing volleyball with your feet! Would Australian Football count here? CS85
I had a hell of a time playing pickleball in high school. Basically it's badminton + tennis + ping pong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickleball Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. DaRadniz29
Well, I like my idea New Variation of Outdoor Team Handball, it's not popular as I just created a little bit ago and it's not really a new sport, but rather a adaptation and update to a old traditional sport.
