I love the new uniforms, but hate, hate, hate the new logo, looks like clip art to me. Would have loved if they went back to the old copper helmets with the current logo.

The home jerseys are excellent... the road jerseys have too much teal in comparison. Regardless, Russell actually made a good uniform for once.

+1

Home jerseys I can really get into, the only thing that bothers me is the belt. Wish it were copper instead of teal, but I can deal with it.

The new AFL is really making odd choices. Just throwing away a lot of the established branding with random, inferior logos. The copper helmet's logo ruins an otherwise surprisingly solid effort for me.

The Rattlers logo really needed it after two decades. But the execution is not that great, as I see.

The logos should be reversed (and just dump the black lid altogether, really), but the copper helmet is back so no matter what this is an upgrade IMO.

Doesn't it seem strange to everyone else that a team in a league that's already ceased operations once is wasting money on two sets of helmets? Maybe the Rattlers can afford it, but why even bother?

That's a revised R-Snake, isn't it? R looks less defined, snake looks more detailed. If that's the case, they should have left it at that. The generic logo on the copper lid is unnecessary.

The uniforms aren't bad, and I don't even mind the road being more teal-heavy. I'd like to see more teal on the home set, actually. I'm not a fan of the copper numbers, either...a bit muddled. The snake-skin is a cool touch, though the road uni overall could use a touch more copper to balance out.

I also don't see why they need two helmets. If the copper one had the R-Snake, I'd prefer it for both. And is it just me or does the helmet copper not match the sleeve copper?

All in all, it's a step in the right direction, but a step while the legs were bound by previous re-hashes, resulting in a tumble to the ground, and a nasty skinned nose. Overall: C-

Pictures have been released for the new 2012 Arizona Rattlers home and away helmets, plus the new uniforms.

The home and aways have the same elements, but the colors make them seem like they are from different teams. The away needs copper sleeves to remedy that.

The helmets- I don't mind the new logos at all, but they could use more contrast against the shell color. The designs will be invisible from 20 feet away.

Love to see a return to a copper helmet...mixed feelings on the logos, but like them both for the most part.

One thing I can't ignore is the "copper" on the black helmet does not match that of that actual copper helmet on the right.

The home and road helmet effect really serves to make the team identity far less succinct. It's very much like two different teams.

I'm not saying the home and road helmet concept is a bad one at its core, but this particular one doesn't seem to work at all.
