Come on Bucfan maybe you can make a trip to Newark see the Prudential Center, watch the best goalie ever work his magic.

When's Patrick Roy going to be at the Prudential Center?? :P

That would require me voluntarily going to Newark, New Jersey. No thanks.

Silly you, Patty Wah is retired! :P

Tank's obviously talking about Ilya Bryzgalov, the man who single handedly led the Anaheim Ducks of 2007 to a 2-1 series advantage over the Mighty Minnesota Wild in the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Quaterfinals. I also heard he was pretty good in the playoffs the year before? But that was before my time..... (y'know, cuz I'm one of them Ducks fans who only became a fan due to the cup)

BOB MILLER!

Shut up Brian Hayward, your envy is too loud.

You are joking.

This is a joke.

Yes, yes I am. He was sort of annoying in the Vancouver series, maybe someone told him to tone it down a bit.

I mean, I hear the guy on an almost daily basis during Ducks season, so I reach my points of annoyance with him. But I think he's actually been pretty good all-around in this postseason. I'm happy he's getting some work in.

All I heard from him was Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver oh look the Kings scored Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver.

And he hasn't been slobbing all over Quick? I think you're being conveniently deaf here. (And didn't he only announce one game of the VAN/LA series? And didn't you get Bob Miller and his trained chimpanzee on FSWest for that series?)

Bob Miller and Jim Fox are year in and year out voted the Best in So Cal, and Brian Heyward is laughed at. Jim Fox has more awards than Brian Heyward has stupid comments per every period he announces. Jim Fox's awards are as follows:

In the October 2, 2006, issue of Sports Illustrated, Fox was named the best analyst in hockey, and in February of 2007, Fox was named as the best TV color commentator in Southern California by the Los Angeles Daily News and columnist Tom Hoffarth, an honor Fox has enjoyed nine of the last 10 years. In 2008, the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association honored him with the top Pre and Post Game Shows commentator award and in 2009 -- and again in 2011 -- he was awarded the Television Analyst award.

Now I will say that Heyward was good this series because he wasn't crying foul from anyone touching a Duck player and was actually watch and analyzing the hockey game. The problem with Heyward is he's so stupidly biased towards the Ducks that even Hawk Harrelson and the late and bad Harry Carry tell him to shut up and stop whining.

I don't like Brian Heyward one bit, total douche homer, but I do like Brian Hayward.

Truth be told, you're not missing much by avoiding Newark.

Well, Kerry Frasor sure helped out that '93 team :P

Let's not forget that in '01 he had Blake, Bourque, and Foote and Marty had Stevens and Niedermayer. You've gotta give Roy props for his 3 Conn Smythes, but without a doubt Hasek had the most inferior teams of the three (referring to the Sabres of the 90s), yet still posted that stats he did and took his team to the SCF in '99.

Not sure if I'd call those '86 or '93 Montreal teams either power houses or even favorites to win the Cup.

For me Roy is the best ever, Broduer and Hasek are definitely in the conversation for top 5 of all time.

However it is important to note that Broduer and Hasek (not counting Hasek in 1992) have 7 Stanley Cup Finals and Zero Conn Smythe Trophies between the them.

Marty should have gotten it in 2003, they just felt sorry for JS Giguere. However, Brodeur had three shutouts in the Finals that year and lost one game 1-0 in OT. It is stil a mystery why they did not give it to him that year.

I'd still probably give Roy the title of best playoff goalie of all-time (3 Conn Smythes is hard to argue against), but I think Hasek deserves a lot more credit than he usually gets. I'm not trying to imply that Roy and Marty only won their Cups because their teams were (for the most part) good, but rather point out that Hasek had an inferior team playing in front of him, yet he still did what he did, and deserves a lot more credit once all things are considered. I'm not trying to discredit Roy's accomplishments of leading his Habs teams to the Cup, but I think it should be noted that Hasek dealt with that his whole time in Buffalo and still posted better regular season stats.

Tank, you can't honestly be suggesting that they gave Giggy the Conn Smythe with a 1.63 GAA on the Mighty Ducks out of pity.

Maybe giving up a goal from the parking lot had something to do with it.

For me, even as much as I despise the Devils, I'd still put Brodeur right behind Roy all-time. I can't deny the remarkable career he's had. Then right behind him, I'd probably say Hasek and perhaps Dryden (yes, I know he had a short career, but what he did in those 9 or so seasons was crazy).

Tank, I think you're forgetting that the Conn Smythe is the PLAYOFF MVP not just the Finals MVP.

Giguere - 15-6-0, 1.62 GAA, .945 SV%, 5 SOs, Shots: 697

Brodeur - 16-8-4, 1.65 GAA, .934 SV%, 7 SOs, Shots: 622

Giguere single-handedly took those Mighty Ducks through a 4-game sweep of the defending champions, 6 games against the #1 seed, and a 4-game sweep in the Conference Finals with shutouts in the first three games and only one goal in Game 4. I will say that Jiggy lost some of his edge in the long 10 day layoff between the Conference Finals and Stanley Cup, but Giguere was the single best player in those playoffs. Giguere and the Ducks were 6-0 in OT, including a 5OT, 3OT, and 2OT. The Devils went 2-4 in OT. In 7 more games, Brodeur faced 75 less shots than Giguere. Brodeur had a much better team in front of him than Giguere. Without Brodeur, the Devils could've gotten to the Conference Finals, I feel. Without Giguere, it would have been the Ducks getting swept by the Red Wings in the first round, not Detroit.

Giguere was the single best player in that 2003 playoffs. He didn't get the Conn Smythe out of freaking pity.

And yeah, like BucFan said, Conn Smythe winners don't do this:

They do this:

----

And yeah, records be damned, Roy > Brodeur. Dan Marino had all the records too, was he better than Joe Montana? No.
