Regarding the AM radio discussion, a large chunk of the St. Louis Cardinals' national following (despite their comparatively small market status) can be traced back to Cards games being broadcast on KMOX, which has a ridiculously powerful radio transmitter. Most of Middle America could hear their games with little trouble.

Very cool. I live near Baltimore, and one of my favorite pastimes is listening to the Cleveland Browns AM postgame shows the night after the Ravens (inevitably) beat them. There's a lot of residual hatred there, what with our evil theft of their franchise, and it makes for a hilarious show.

Anecdotes aside, it's great news that Alfredsson is playing tonight - justice and all, yes, but I also have selfish motives. As a Capitals fan, it would be great for the Rangers to get KOd - although Ottawa will draw the Panthers, so "pick your poison." All of this, of course, assumes my Caps can pull off a road win in G7.

It would be bizarre that Florida or Ottawa would be in the final 4, as they would be guaranteed a slot by playing one another.

Without any basis or reasoning, my shooting-from-the-hip picks for tonight are...

...

...

New Jersey, New York, Phoenix.

Panthers/Devils is tomorrow, but I support your other two choices.

I support 1 out of those three, and that game isn't until tomorrow...

I want to think the Blackhawks will win tonight, but...eh. I think it's going to be a big first period, then two periods of sleepy sloppy play that ends with a random underwhelming goal in yet another ridiculous OT.

If you're Nashville you have to be loving the OT. If just 2:21 more OT gets played Phoenix and Chicago will have played two whole periods' worth of OT. The Preds played zero minutes of OT.

I wonder what NYR's record would have been if someone like Clemmensen was in net for them.

Ottawa is only 40 minutes away from their first series win since the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals.

Unless the Rangers muster up the same resolve that the Bruins displayed yesterday in prolonging their season.

A long way to go but I'm surprised there isn't more giddy up in the ranger's step. Someone else has to play at Henry level.

That may be the first domino to fall. Will be fun to see Ottawa's answer. That stupid penalty was not a good sign.

Richards on a HUGE 5-on-3 puts the Rangers ahead 2-1 late in the 2nd.

Brad Richards coming up huge with his team on the ropes. Nothing new there.

UPDATE - And Kreider puts New York up 3-1 with 40 ticks left.

Exceptional period of play by New York, coupled with Ottawa committing way too many penalties.

Definitely a very questionable call for goalie interference to set up the 5 on 3.
