Mizzou unveils new FB and BB uniforms

Not going to mesh well in the SEC. IMO too outlandish in contrast to the other squads.

The best teams in the league - LSU, Bama, Auburn, UGA, Florida, UTenn, A&M have all remained consistent for decades.

The non-pro combat helmet is great, hopefully that'll be used primarily.

If you are talking about consistent in winning, then A&M is getting ready to experience a downfall. If you are talking about consistent looks, then I can see your point for the most part. However, I think Alabama, Tennessee and Auburn need to experience a slight touch of modern design.

Okay, I'll bite: why do Tennessee, Bama, and Auburn need slight touches of modern design?

While you're at it, exactly what "touches" do you consider modern, that you believe they need?

(This is discussion; not trying to bust your chops here.)

Would some please threaten/abuse/con/charm/bribe/sue Nike into taking their promo shorts in normal lighting?

. . . im guessing you mean shots. to which i totally agree. i want to see a design in something close to the environment its going to live (that goes for any design). not like its in a scary cave

I like these a lot, an I don't think they'll be too out of place in the SEC. Theyre no more over the top than South Carolina and Kentucky.

Maybe I should not have used the word "modern" but I would like to see the following:

Auburn - Blue pants on the road / Orange jersey as a alternate

Tennessee - Get rid of the black permanently / lose the traditional striping on the pants and have more modern design / lose the wide stripe on the helmet

Alabama - Lose the gray facemask / add an alternate helmet with the "A" on the side for special games / If they use the gray facemask, use gray pants as an alternate.

i believe they have aofficialy added anthracite as a school color too. so dont bitch about that not being a school color. i really like this set. A

Just because they added it as a "school color" still means it's Nike being Nike.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Glad none of that will ever happen.

Actually, I really don't think a alternate set of navy pants for Auburn would be nearly as bad as many would think...so long as they're never worn with navy jerseys. As for Tennessee, I also am of the opinion that they should lose any and all traces of black?though that's where that stops. I ain't finna touch Bama, though.

Back to the topic at hand...I can't look at this new Mizzou stuff without thinking it looks like the screwchild of West Virginia and Southern Miss. One thing's for sure though: visually, they'll probably be the most, um, "disctinctive" SEC team...for better or for worse.

I think this look for Missouri is exactly what they needed to separate themselves from the BIG XII conference. Like the old saying, this was the final nail in the coffin. Besides this look is a lot better than their previous set because that old yellow(mustard) and black combination looked awful especially with the template that used the last few years and that is why I am glad that Nike introduced gray uniform because it adds to a bad combination to make the set a better combination.

THE GOOD

Subtle tiger stripes.

I actually like the black, grey and yellow color palette.

Alternate helmet with large, one-color tiger is great.

THE BAD

Font seems very 2004 to me. Not refined and sedate enough to be current, and not classic enough to be timeless. Just dated.

Standard helmet is all kinds of awful. Belongs at a high school or a D3 college with those stripes and the oval mascot logo.

THE UGLY

Contrast shoulders? Still? In 2012? One season is all you need to realize that it doesn't work anymore. Especially not black shoulders on white.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry
