These are awesome! Only bad thing is that vintage white is taking over sports.

I don't think it's vintage white (I'm assuming you're referring to the pants, because the number boxes are definitely white), so much as the "default leather football pants look" that's been used in the past:

I'll respect any opinion that you can defend.

These are certifiably nuts, and fantastically accurate. Love 'em, and I eagerly await the seizure they'll induce when I see them in live action.

Looking at the image that was posted earlier in the thread, I figured that I was gonna hate it. Now that I see what it looks like in 2012, I actually like this. Of course, this has absolutely NO staying power in today's day-&-age, but for an anniversary throwback, it's pretty good. Wow.

Looks like they won't be going full-on throwback though with that helmet, unless they just bust out a brown helmet in time for the season.

Who doesn't like a jersey unveiling in the bathroom?

At least Nike made the numbers legible... ^_^

Yeah, I was referring to the number boxes.

I stand corrected. I thought for sure those were white. Kudos, I definitely agree with you then.

As a Bengals fan, I love these.

I agree and, as a Seahawk fan, I can't think of a better uniform for the Steelers to wear. That should be their full time set. No need for home and away, these clash with everything!

Quite fitting for the Stealers. (yes I know it's misspelled)

Most Steelers fans seem to hate these uniforms. Most Steeler fans are also uneducated yinzers who don't recognize anything that didn't happen in the 70's or the past 15 years, nor do they seem to understand the concept of a throwback jersey.

As for me, I like them, because of the history, because it's a true throwback, and because I just plain think it looks good in an odd sort of way.

Strange the Steelers didn't go with a throwback helmet to go with this unusual jersey, and I don't mean a blank helmet, either. Since leather helmets are obviously out, I would have adapted a design using the 1933 city crest logo which appears on those 1994 throwbacks. Put the Pittsburgh city crest on a black helmet, and that would have been an upgrade over using the modern helmet with the retro look.

You know what...in this weird, unexplainable way, I actually like them. I can't really pinpoint why. It could obviously use a different helmet, but I just can't bring myself to dislike them. To me personally, I never would have thought that hoops on a football uniform would turn out well, but they look alright here. This is obviously not something I'd ever want them to adopt full time, but for what it is, it's cool.

These are awesomely bad. In the same way that "The Final Countdown" is a great song. So odd, so different, that I actually love them. I feel like drastic uniform departures like this always inspire a lot of knee-jerk "THEY'RE AWFUL" reactions, but eh. I like different, and this is a historical look, so why not?

The helmets were leather, the pants were canvas.

I love these. Good on Pittsburgh.
