336 new PANTONE colors

Pantone has just added a butt load of new colors to their PANTONE Plus series. what is the Plus series? well thats probably best answered here. from Pantone.com

What is the relationship between the PANTONE® PLUS SERIES and the PANTONE Goe?

System?

The PANTONE Goe? System was introduced in 2007 as an additional color range to the

PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM®. The PANTONE® PLUS SERIES is the next generation of the

PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® ? the defacto standard for color communication in the graphic

arts market. Going forward, Pantone will focus primarily on the advancement of the PANTONE

PLUS SERIES. We recognize the important enhancements the PANTONE Goe System provided

and these improvements have been migrated to the PANTONE PLUS SERIES.

Yeah that's cool and all, but it's not worth doing until the majority of print shops update their ink libraries to the Goe system. My understanding is that it's pretty expensive to do and it's not something a lot of shops are planning on doing at the time. That will change eventually, but I think for now it's not really worth updating yet.
