Avenger
Here is a concept for the Vassar College Brewers. It's a Div III school in Poughkeepsie, NY. I have a connection with their athletic department, so these have a legit shot at being considered. That's why I need your thoughts on how to make these tip top.Their colors are maroon and white, though they currently use some silver on some of their uniforms. I'd like to see them use a vegas gold, but I've rendered the logos with both. What do you guys think?
pittunited
The gold fits in better with the wheat. OWNER -- Pittsburgh Spiders (UL) * Dynamo Missouri (PLA) * Montreal Maroons (SHL)
Geoff
That silver one doesn't look right. Maybe if it was mainly silver trimmed in maroon. The gold one is what I would choose. Athletic Director: KTU Blue Grassers Football
shiznit1083
I really like the simplicity of them. It's effective without going overboard.I would be interested to see what it would lool like if you maintained the silver outline, btu added the gold to the wheat. It might look interesting that way. Other than that, I would go with the gold. The design leaves a lot of room for additions, or for a more elaborate scheme for individuals sports. Great job. gojetsgo
Nice and simple... very good for a school. I'm not crazy about the banner in front of the V, but I'm not sure what else you could do."I've had just enough of your Vassar bashing" - Homer Simpson
MilTownMVP
The gold is better, only I'd use something other than the Copperplate Bold font that everyone and their mama is using nowadays.Great job overall thought. Exactly what a college logo should be: simplistic but distiguished. Gothamite
Beautiful. As said above, I like the gold better with the wheat.I have to hand it to you. A great design. I wish the Milwaukee Brewers would have done something like this.Good luck! The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
OnWis97
I am in the minority. I like the Maroon and grey. It reminds of UMass. They all look good though. Gordie
You've got that Midas touch . . . I prefer the gold, too. It stands out more than the grey, and the wheat looks better.
pflava
I like it, but there is one odd thing: At top-right corner of the "V", the wheat looks like a hand waving hello.
Avenger
The gold is better, only I'd use something other than the Copperplate Bold font that everyone and their mama is using nowadays. I've made the same argument on a regular basis, but I just think it really works on this.I wanted something that's sorta neo-classical, that's compact, and that's easy to read at a very small size. Copperplate acheived all of those criteria, and it also seemed to fit the character of the logo. I couldn't find a font in my library that worked better. sc49erfan15
I like the gold more, that's some nice stuff. Simple, but easily distinguishable.
Waffles
I like it a lot...my only suggestion would be to try sticking a white outline in between the V and the gold/silver just to break it up a bit.
gregchait
very strong... the gold concept I like much more than the silver...grc
Gothamite
Just for the heck of it, would you mind working up a Milwaukee Brewers concept along the same lines? I'm thinking using the barley as the "upstroke" on the "M"... The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
