Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. GriffinM6
Hunter Pence hits with only one batting gloveWhat's unique about that? A lot of baseball players only wear a glove on their bottom hand.No. He's the only current major leaguer that does itIt was very common back in the early days of batting gloves, but now everyone either wears both or no batting gloves. I for one wear only one batting glove and it's on my left(bottom) hand.

FinalBeast
Dale Sr.'s open face helmets and goggles...That really wasn't unique for his time, most nascar drivers had open face helmets, it was just after his death they made the full face helmets mandatory.Yes, but as I got into NASCAR, I think only he and Harry Gant (and actually Gant made the switch to a full face before Sr. died I believe) were still rocking them. And at the time of his death, he was pretty much the only guy in the big league doing it. When I think of Sr., I think of him after the race with his raccoon face and smile.Dale Jr. was also wearing the open face helmet and bubble glasses at the time of his fathers death. I know molded baseball cleats have gotten more popular lately though.I wore the vapor jets in hs for football and they were very comfortable. I could see why baseball players would wear them. I find metal cleats kinda uncomfortable actually.

Ferdinand Cesarano
Yankees prospect Pat Venditte throws both left and right, so he uses a special glove:Sorry to make two consecutive responses to the same thread. But I wanted to point out that Greg Harris used a glove like that in a game once. John Olerud and his helmet definitely belong on this list.Dick Allen and George Scott often wore helmets in the field:But Olerud is the only one to do it for medical reasons: he'd once had an aneurism in his brain, and wanted the extra bit of protection.
