Tortured logic out the ass from the losing side here. "It's better because lots of players suck." lolwut

:therock:

We're all winners here. Or losers, maybe. But we're all the same.

No, I think it's more "It's more interesting to watch college football, because the game is more unexpected, and allows a greater chance for amazing individual efforts, while still being played on a high enough level so that team effort is required, and one player does not make a championship team, no matter how good.

You just posted a youtube clip of how awesome it is when one player is far and away better than everyone on the opposition.

Didn't Vince Young carry Texas to a National Championship over USC?

Meanwhile I can't think of a single player in recent memory who "made" a Super Bowl Championship team in the NFL.

I dunno. I can't stand how overcovered the NFL has become and I do spend a ton of time over at EDSBS these days, but for some reason I still prefer the NFL. Maybe it's because Syracuse is out of the hunt for the national title as soon as the season starts (by default even with playing in the Big East), maybe it's because I'm in the college football deadzone that is the Northeast and is a B1G-B12-Pac12-SEC alliance away from killing college football on the entire east coast forever, maybe it's because I go to a school where the basketball, and hell lacrosse during those games they bring in >15K, atmosphere completely knocks the football atmosphere out of the ballpark 10 times over, I really don't know. I mean, yeah the AFC hasn't gotten anyone not named the Colts, Patriots, or Steelers in the Super Bowl in ages, but with the exception of Auburn-Oregon there's barely been any variety in the BCS Championship Game for many reasons stated already. And then the same name schools are always brought up over and over and over again that you just can't escape the flood of hearing them, even when they're mediocre (ahem, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, ahem).

I mean, I do enjoy college football, but in the whole scheme of things it's probably my 3rd favorite college sport, and it's lucky Syracuse doesn't have a men's ice hockey team or else that could quickly fall down to 4th. The NFL, for all my complaints about the overcommercialism and spending 30 minutes of Sportscenter in May on WHAT WILL THE PANTHERS DO WITH THEIR BATTLE FOR THE 2ND WIDE RECEIVER SLOT AND WHAT DID TIM TEBOW EAT FOR BREAKFAST HOCKEY and all the stupid little things they do like putting games on a channel I don't get, having only one video game, and having only one outlet to not only watch every game on TV, but streaming online as well.... it's still something I watch every single Sunday all day and it's still neck and neck with MLB as my 2nd favorite pro sport. College football I'll watch a big matchup, but I won't be watching every single game all day aside from my own school's.

And BTW, Devin Hester says he can do that kind of play in his sleep.

Only against the Rams.

No, GBs defense was pretty impressive that year/playoff run. They had non-offensive TDs in 3 of the 4 playoff wins.

So was Texas's. Not quite the Level of USC's, but they had a solid defense.

And Texas' defense held the Trojans to a "mere" 38 points.

The Trojans were averaging close to 50 points a game. I say that's an accomplishment.

The best example I can think of is Auburn and Cam Newton. He was going to win a national title anywhere he went. Alabama, LSU, even Miss St. had better supporting players than Auburn that year.

Auburn had two good running backs, and I believe were in the top 10 in turnover percentage.

Another reason why the NCAA sucks, this wipes out a sick TD:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRNu_GzdRo4

You mean to tell be that bad refs are exclusive to college football?

No, NCAA rules require the TD to be brought back in that situation. An innocent one second moment of being happy not only is a 15 yard penalty, but negates the TD. OITGDNCAAF

What a bunch of crap, more like the No Fun League if you ask me, wait, what's that, oh, I'm glad these guys are learning important life skills out there on the field.

In the NCAA, one raw freak athlete can change a game (see: Cam Newton, RG3). I suppose by deduction, you could then assume that the NFL relies more on team effort and is thus more true to the spirit of team athletics. But regardless, even guys like Brees, Brady or Manning can't completely take over a game like Tebow did at Florida.

In the NFL, a guy scores because he ran a well-designed play, got some key blocks and exploited a mismatch on the defense. In the NCAA, a guy scores because he can simply outrun 11 other dudes on the field.

Those are two great cases against college football.

And as far as seeing more punt-return touchdowns in college -- well, yeah. Duh. There are five times more college games than NFL each weekend. Of course you're gonna see more.

I don't think he's angry so much as he's poking fun at the idea that NCAA football is anything more then....football.
