Major League Football (my fictional concept league)

Recommended Posts

Yeah it is a horseshoe not much you can make look different but it is supposed to be the U in the Mustangs Wordmark.

I do not however think it is that close to the colts but what do I know.

The Colts is more rounder & very different at the top.

This was originally going to be a second LA franchise but I changed my mind & rewrote the history to have them move.

I will try the KC instead using the K & C from the Wordmark.

I appreciate all the comments keep them coming before you know it we will have the league complete.

Up next will be the LA Stars then hopefully the Memphis Blues & Miami Marauders after I tweak KC a little.

Been working on a history timeline for these teams with division & conference alignments for those of you interested in that sort of stuff.

The teams are pretty set as I have back stories for all franchises as well as logo ideas for those that I did not have.

PFL stands for Professional Football League it has direct ties to MLF.

It started around 1922 & combined with the Ohio & Pennsylvania Leagues in 1927 for PA & 1932 for OH

Here you go

I have been sick with the flu the last 4 days & have just got back on my feet for more than just a few minutes.

It may be closer to the weekend before I revise KC.

I did get an idea in my head while I was sick for the KC secondary I will just have to find time to execute.

Then the team that many consider the team of the last two decades the LA Stars.

LA Stars! Maybe try and make a sheriff's badge as a secondary instead! It fits in with the colour scheme, is a nod to the past, and could work well. Try it out!

Wow! That's a very rich history. Does MLF have company similar to NFL Films to document all this? If so, how long have they been doing it?

@General - thanks for the kind words that was the sickest I have been in a good while.

@Neo - I actually thought of doing that but just not got that far with it at one time I came up with TV Network names though.

One of the things I kinda love/hate about this series is you can be limited with team names & the styles you would like to use for teams.

But really would anybody wanna see a cleveland or pittsburgh football team with some silly name even if it does produce very original logos.

I could probably make the Cleveland Cheetahs & produce a passable logo but I could just not see the team adopted that name.

I have studied NFL logos for the last few years & patterned some of these logos after them so they would show different styles of different eras.

Just a few examples KCs style is patterned after the Detroit Lions before & after & Indianapolis is patterned after Seattle of all things.

Anybody else notice that?

Bombers number fonts are Broncos

It's close, but not exact. You can really see the differences in the 1's and 7's.

Yes they are not the same font as I customized that font myself it does have some of the same structure especially the 9's.

You are talking mainly colors here but I was talking logo styles.

The Marshals just ended up looking like the Giants since the color scheme ended up being the same.

The Admirals I was thinking of the Navy so I obviously went with a blue color but really wanted this simple & BYU was not even on my mind of making this team look like them but it turned out that way.

Colors for the saints I read somewhere were chosen because their owner at the time was in the oil industry so I thought it would be great for a Houston team to have a similar history.

Maybe you've settled on "Stars" for the LA Club, but have you thought of using the name "Rogues" for any of the 32 MLF teams? Maybe LA or even New York or Chicago or Detroit?

Update to KC.

I tried the C completely over K like Notre Dames ND logo but boy it did not turn out like I had hoped.

Anyway this is what I came up with instead C & C up next the LA Stars.

Much better. Really gives the team their own identity instead of SMU+Colts. Looking forward to LA and when you do it, Seattle.

Are the Seattle Thunderbolts a team/logo you will be showing here as well? If so, do you mind me asking what the colors might be?

Yeah I am actually looking forward to showing Seattle as it is done & one of my favorite logos.

The main color is yellow/gold with kind of a blue/green as the backdrop picked color from the Seattle Flag.
