2013 MLB Logo and Uniform Changes

I got mine from Hat Club.

When I called the Brewers team store, they said they'd only be available at their store, so that's false information they gave me. That led to my assumption that it would only be sold there at limited quantities

That's what I thought as well. I was pretty shocked to see it there and only picked it up because I figured it'd be the only chance I'd have to get it. I didnt think I was going to have the time, but now that I do, I'm going to try to go to the Spring Training game where they wear them.

I guess it's a lesson I'll have to learn and eat the fact that I overpaid for the cap.

Go A's!

Anyone else notice that the Cardinals green hat is Velcro in the back? Sorry I couldn't find a picture. Makes since, since those are cheaper for a one game thing.

I saw that too. Tacky, tacky, tacky...

Multiple teams had velcro.

Yep, the Reds had velcro this year and last. Not sure about the years prior.

Did they take out the shoulder piping?

im_uniformwinnerpresentation.jpg

Yes, they did. They also changed the "B".

Shame on both counts.

If the graphic on MLB Shop is accurate (and I certainly hope it isn't), they got rid of the shoulder piping, dumped the front number, and used their standard Times New Roman Bold Outline Dropshadow font for the names and numbers. So they did just about everything to screw the design up short of replacing the sleeve patch with their primary logo.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Just bought my ticket for the game on Friday vs the Cubs at Maryvale Park. Should be interesting to see them in action.

I wouldn't necessarily say that they dumped the font, but I wouldn't be surprised. Since it isn't a font MLB regularly uses, they may not have the graphic for it and used this as a placeholder. MLBShop has had problems with this sort of thing in the past, but it's been a while.

But since MLB wants to use their copyright-owned fonts as much as possible, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to use their own Brewers font instead. I guess we'll find out Friday.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

Hate to double post but this has nothing to do with my previous post. Brewers fan contest jersey is now up on MLB Shop.

Still better than what they'll wear for all the other games.

Photos from the Brewers today show the jersey still has the piping, and also keeps the distinct numeral font and front numbers. As you were.

The sleeve patch in this picture is supposedly the memorial patch the Cardinals will wear this season for Stan Musial.

Much better than the patch they wore all of last season.
