Dolphin fans are slamming this thing on fb at a 99 to 1 ratio.

Most of FB is older people right now, anyway. You can't just keep giving them their maple and brown sugar oatmeal for so many years and then, one day, give them cinnamon and not expect a huge clustercuss to go down.

The new logo is fine.

I didn't say I was against the new logo. Quit basing your life on which social media is most relevant. Put on your headphones, crush some Four Lokos and talk :censored: to your buddies in your online Call of Duty whatever it's called. I'm suddenly into oatmeal, 'cause I'm old dammit.

I'm gonna miss the old Dolphins logo, but the update is great. It's toned down yet still keeps it mostly traditional. I still can't picture the logo on the helmet. It almost goes against the flow of the shape of the helmet. I almost wonder if the Dolphins are going to do something really shocking and NOT use that logo on the helmet, but instead just use a simple M, comparable to the helmet the old Dolphins logo was wearing. I actually kind of like the idea of that.

Who cares if Miami's Facebook fans are slamming it? Last I checked, most fans wouldn't know a competent design if it bit 'em in the @$$.

As far as the new Dolphin goes; I dig it. I just wish the shadow was on the rear of the dorsal fin. The sunburst; not so much a fan. Oh well. I'm sure they had their reasons for rendering it the way they did.

My team changed to a logo I don't like. Guess what?

I still support that team.

Sports fans are a fanatical, dedicated lot. The Dolphins know this, and they knew not everybody would be excited about their new branding. They also know that most casual fans will still buy tickets and buy stuff with the new logo on it just because it has the new logo on it.

I'm pretty sure the Dolphins could care less what a few thousand morons on Facebook think about their logo. Even if they did, they're stuck with it for five years.

Are the Dolphins the first team in NFL history to de-mean their logo??

I think we're witnessing history here. Cherish these moments.

Sure, they de-meaned their logo, but also went to soulless, abstract crap. One step forward, eight steps back.

At first I thought so too but after a closer look they still tried to make it look p***ed. I think this is an upgrade overall but the eye, expression, and the dolphin's proportions make it look like the villain in a Pixar cartoon movie. Still screams SeaWorld too and maybe avoiding that was the value of the "goofy" helmet.

Look, no offense, but people who say things like this sound like pretentious "I'm so cool" a-holes. Just thought you'd like to know. All the negativity? It's not "older people," it's anybody with nothing better to do than bitch online. People with lives form an opinion, think "Hey, that's nice" or "God, that sucks" and either discuss it (like here) or just go on about their business without having to shout their opinions as if anyone gives two s**ts what they think.

If you want to see some real geniuses and all the unintended comedy you can stand, just read the comments following any news story (especially hot button topics). And as a previous poster noted, trying to reason with them is like trying to teach algebra to lizards.

Check out the Miami Dolphins Facebook page as fans are ripping their new logo to shreds. It is kinda funny reading some people's posts.

I went in there and stupidly tried to defend it...thank god my insurance is paid.

Is everyone on that FB page completely illiterate?

It hurts my brain to read some of those comments...

(And no - I don't have the new colors yet, but it sure looks like a Dark Aqua in place of the Navy to me.)

I would like that, and paired with the full logo on the sleeves would be a good balance.

And as for the logo, I'm a fan. It's so different from the old logo it's hard to call it an upgrade or a downgrade; it's a change, and it'll take time to determine whether it was for better or worse. As a logo though I like it a lot, and I think it still says "Miami Dolphins" to me.

It seems like folks on this board are split down the middle in terms of the helmet logo appearing on the jersey sleeves as well. I've never been a fan since I love sleeve stripes and don't like the repetition of a logo appearing multiple places, but that's just me. I don't feel like the logo on the sleeves will break the look.

I'm gonna wait to see what the rest of this new brand/identity looks like before I render an opinion on it. This is but one element...I want to see how it fits into the overall schematic.

I do hope it's more cohesive than what I've been seeing out of Jacksonville, though....

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

You are still still green my friend so don't be bashing older people as we get offended! This new logo sucks and at least you should feel good about it because your team no longer has the worst logo in the NFL.

In the end it is the fans that buy the merchandise, so it DOES matter what the fans say. Why else would the 49ers and the Bills revert back to their old school looks? MONEY talks and B.S. walks.

I was only thinking about this because I recently got a pair of Nike Elite socks in Heather/Teal, but I really wish the Phins had employee grey. This would have been the one time it would make sense in the GFGS debate. Make it silver and it would look great. Can't post a photo, but here's the link to the socks I'm talking about...

The fans are unhappy. Any chance they pull this back (a la the Niners one-day helmet) and stick with "corny dolphin"? Or is it too late.

I predict this thing goes the way of the buffaslug. "Corny Dolphin" will be back in a few years.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."
