Fantasy New Arrowhead Stadium

Recommended Posts

This is a Fantasy Stadium I design a few years back before they renovated the existing Stadium. It was the first fantasy stadium I ever designed. It is a completely new Arrowhead located in the parking lot to the southeast of the existing stadium.

The stadium is essentially "wrapped" in a metal panels that make it a big billboard for the highway. The panel open up at the corners to create dramatic entries. The wrap is topped with a pointed flat "Arrowhead". This is a two story enclosed building on top of the stadium. On the field side it is 360 degs of Luxury boxes. On the parking side it is rentable office space and the offices of the Chiefs. The scheme also would allow for a temporary roof to be installed for the Super Bowl. The shape and lines were meant to create a dynamic roadside visual and an enveloping interior environment.

I'm not going to say much about the design because I know nothing about stadium design. (It looks good IMO) But what program did you use to create this?

This looks amazing. The design really tricks when you first see it. I was assuming it'd be a small stadium, then I realized how big it is on the inside, because it's sunken into the ground. The one odd thing is that it kind of looks like a warehouse on hte outside IMO. Other than that, it's fantastic.

Yes. It is supposed to be like a Midwestern Shed out in the prairie. A warehouse for football.

It looks really good. My only issue would be with the water table. You'd have to make sure that it stays dry that deep (and that you have really good drainage for rainstorms) or it would turn into a lake.

As a Midwesterner, I can definitely appreciate the regional tie-in you're going for, but I'm not sure I'd find going to a stadium that looks like a lumber yard very appealing... especially if I actually worked at a lumber yard (which many Midwesterners do).

That aside, this is very well-rendered.

Warehouse is a poor choice of words. The metal wrap is an attempt at making the stadium more of an object and less like other big stadiums. Reliant, Lucas Oil, Cowboys.

Looks nice but I generally don't like stadiums that are in a parking lot. Kind of like how you made the stadium seem like a warehouse, can you make the parking lot look Midwesterny? Or just add some landscaping?

The outside is lacking. I suppose there's 'something' there that your going for, but I'm just not seeing it. It looks like a suburban office park. I also dislike the typography on the outside. Something that ties into the Chiefs' identity or something that is more timeless would do wonders. Maybe it's the fact that it's in a parking lot, but there just needs to be some sort of signature visuals on the outside. That might be light towers, trees, fountains, green spaces, bricks, wood, restaurants or trees/gardens on the rooftop, something that's interesting to look at and feels like KC, because the inside is absolutely amazing. I love how close and steep the seating is, and I love the sunken field level. Would really make it feel like the fans are on top of you. Gives new meaning to the term 'death valley.'

Yea I like the idea of it being sunken in but it looks like a Walmart.

You have some of my favorite concepts I wish I could design a stadium like this on the computer. I often draw stadium concepts, but nothing compares to this. Well done!

I love the interior of the stadium, but the outside reminded me of a flea market.
