TheOldRoman
I'm sure somebody has one, but it seems the Cubs wear that blue alt as a de facto road jersey. Don't seem to see the grays all that much over the years.I'm pretty sure that's still the case. Back when Carlos Zambrano was on the Cubs, he wore the blue jerseys for pretty much every start. Mark Buehrle got nearly as bad with wearing the black jerseys for most of his starts the last few years with the Sox. Both were good pitchers, likey to win any game, which would then cause the team to wear the alternates again for the next game. The Cubs thought they wore the blue jerseys too often, so they eliminated them for a year or two around 06/07. I'm not sure if they wear them as much after bringing them back. The White Sox' marketing department wanted to de-emphasize the black jerseys last year, and they were only worn a handful of times. Sadly, this year they have once again become the de facto road jersey, although they haven't worn them at home nearly as much as in 2011.
smith03
Minnesota Twins: First team to use something other than a city as its "place" name. Last team to have pinstripes and name plates on a jersey (barring some throwbacks that may be worn).Toronto Maple Leafs: I think were the last team to not have a NOB in the NHL. Twins first to play a game with something other than a city name April 1961. Vikings first team to be named (at least in the big 4 in the 20th century) something other than a city Sept 1960. Just say NO to gray facemasks.
