Madison Square Garden IV (2012/Pres)

8343561552_01663b8ae4_z.jpg

This floor was used for the first time on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 (Cavs @ Knicks, just after the All-Star break).

I don't think the current court has the MSG logo in purple... I think it is black

It ain't black at all. In fact it's PMS 2766, a kind of dark purple (the corporate color of MSG). The only thing wrong, and I've already fixed it, is the light purple stroke around the word "GARDEN".

Ahh ok, maybe without the light purple it looks darker than just dark purple. This project you're doing is amazing!!! I cant belive how much work you've put into this. Sorry if I missed an earlier post but are these all hosted on a central website somewhere? Or are you donating them to the mother ship?

Although they had moved to the Kingdome, the Sonics also played Game 4 of the 1979 NBA Finals, on May 29, at the Seattle Center Coliseum. They used this same floor.

I'm just sharing loads of work and research during the past two years with the world.

Seattle Center Coliseum (1980)

8344182282_85c919c742_z.jpg

As the Mariners (the Kingdome's primary tenants) objected to letting the Sonics play there in the spring, the Sonics played the entire series of the 1980 NBA Playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Seattle Center Coliseum.

Hec Edmunson Pavilion (1980)

8344208100_3ab0403127_z.jpg

The University of Washington's campus arena was the site for six games during the 1970-71 season, plus two games during the 1987 playoffs (Game 3 vs Mavs) and two games during the 1980 playoffs (Western Conference Finals against the Lakers). I'm not able to get footage from the 1970-71 season, neither of the Game 3 of the series against the Mavericks from the 1987 playoffs.

Madison Square Garden IV (2010/2012)

8343797432_8bb999cbf6_z.jpg

This floor was used for the very last time on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 (Hawks @ Knicks, just before the All-Star break).

Anybody know the reasoning as for why this logo doesn't have the triangle behind it, but the one they switched to mid-season does?

Just an alternate logo they were pushing at the time.. Kind of a homage to the pre-triangle championship days. The triangle looks better in my opinion brings the whole logo together.

For some great pictures of the basketball court designs used by the Cleveland Cavaliers from their start in 1970 to today, you can go to http://www.cavshistory.com/courts .

1970-73 Cleveland Arena (although it may have been used for the Cavs' final season [1973-74])

arena.jpg

1973-83 Richfield Coliseum (I don't know if this court was first used at the Cleveland Arena during the Cavs' final season there [1973-74] and then "The Coliseum" logo added when the team moved there or this court was first used in 1974. I also remember the Cavs' had retired numbers on the sidelines and not sure what color the 3-point line was when it debuted in the NBA in 1979.

1983-94 (although I think the Cavs' logo in the upper left hand corner was upside down)-1994 was final year at Richfield Coliseum

1994 (First season at Gund Arena)-1996

1996-2003 (I think they have the "Cleveland Cavaliers" word mark on the end lines upside down.

I would like to see the Cavaliers' bring back the 1970-83 logo. If it were supersized like many of the league logos are for basketball courts, it would look great.

Atlanta Braves, please bring back the Indian Head logo.

Tacoma Dome (1990/1991)

The Sonics played 3 games at the Tacoma Dome during the 1990-1991 season and they used this court: November 10, 1990 vs the Warriors, March 27, 1991 vs the Blazers and April 10, 1991 vs the Clippers. They also played here 4 games during the 1983-1984 season, but cannot find footage of those games.

To me, I think that the circle where the crown is on the Kingdome logo at center court was a little bigger than the one you have on your post. I think it was the same size as the 4-foot restraining circle that is used in most center courts.

Atlanta Braves, please bring back the Indian Head logo.

Probably a little bigger, but definitely not 4-foot. 4 ft. must be the void around the king county logo. I will check it and correct it.

In the picture showed above, seems to me that the circle of the King County logo is smaller than 4 ft., don't you think?
