I know this thread is mainly for predictions and not discussion, but I have to say it bothers me that many of you have noted the Rays being a favorite for the postseason and even further...yet this area doesn't seem to get on board.

I know I am beating a dead horse in a sense, but after living here for over 2 years and becoming a ST holder for the upcoming season- I feel I have a right to complain more now. The people here don't realize how good they have it.

As a kid, my family would drive almost 4 hours to see a Braves game. People around here complain about a 30 or 45 minute commute. I know the stadium location could be better, I know mass public transit is lacking here, and I know making it to every game is tough.

However, when the team is good and the organization is top notch...it stinks to realize they could be gone within 10 years.

Tropicana Field is a dumpster fire. The Rays cannot profit as a tenant, and the City of St. Petersburg has been tight-fisted about not allowing the Rays out of their lease, or to pursue a location in Tampa.

It has to be remembered that the Trop was opened in 1988 and used as an option for the White Sox, Mariners, or Giants to move. None of them did, and the stadium lingered in relative nothingness for nearly a decade, save for a couple seasons when the Tampa Bay Lightning and Storm played there, until the Ice Palace opened in 1996. The facility actually needed to be renovated before the Rays played a game there. The stadium has never had a chance to be a suitable venue for a Major League Baseball team, and the Rays have more-or-less been trapped there more-so than anything else.

This is also why, from a Yankee fan perspective, I'm not mad at all about the Rays economic situation ( :) ), but that from a baseball fan perspective, it kind of sucks. The Rays have the best front office in baseball, and it would be very interesting to see what they could do if they weren't always operating with their hands tied behind their backs.

Tnak,

The fact that you included Jim Tracy in managers to be fired discredits your list.

Saying that the Rockies "have trouble scoring with Tulo and CarGo in the lineup" shows your ignorance on the matter.

The Rockies ranked 6th in the majors in Runs scored last season with 758, behind TEX, NYY, MIL, LAA, StL. Every year you spew this garbage but come on!

Denver Nuggets Kansas City Chiefs Tampa Bay Rays

Colorado Buffaloes Purdue Boilermakers Florida Gators
