I was suspecting a lot worse after the teasers. I actually like it. It's a third jersey, so it's all right to be inventive, especially with a lot of other teams going blander to make themselves look more respectable.

It's a downgrade from their previous third, but at least all three jerseys have the same colors again. It's not the best third jersey ever, it's third place in the list of buffalo's third jerseys. But compared to the other third jerseys in the league - I'd rank it below the Senators, Rangers, Wild, and Avalanche.

I hope the jerseys sell and maybe San Jose, Boston, Vancouver, and Chicago will ditch their bland thirds for something more inventive.

I'm not sure, those were great jerseys, aside from the numbers, even though I get what they are trying to throw back to.

All this new set needs is a Jaguarsesque gradient on the helmet.

Well that's not to say the Sabres organization had nothing to do with it obviously. But regardless of who all was behind the scenes, I don't buy into the idea that this is the best they could do. Or that that was even their goal.

btw, you can see the mismatching yellows in this picture, too. I get the whole "it's how the light hits it" thing, but "light hitting things" is how your eyes see everything. The middle panel looks like Perds' mustard yellow and the sides look like what they should be wearing.
