The_Admiral
It's like people who pine for the return of the Quebec Nordiques and Hartford Whalers. They were terrible, losing franchises for most of their NHL existences. No, those Nords teams with Michel Goulet and the Stastnys were pretty good before the bottom completely dropped out and they drafted Nolan/Sundin/Lindros. They were on the upswing with Sakic, Thibault, and the returns on the Lindros trade just as they moved to Denver. Even when they were bad, attendance at the Colisee was terrific. That they were terrible sounds to me like revisionist history from a sunbelt partisan. First off, I grew up in Michigan and New York. Do people from the sunbelt dislike the Nordiques? Secondly, for the better part of the 80's and early 90's right up until just before they moved to Denver, the Nordiques were pretty bad. Look it up they were 100 games under .500 for their 16 year NHL history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_Nordiques I clearly acknowledged that they bottomed out hard late '80s/early '90s, but for the "better part of the '80s," they were a decent operation, or as decent as you could be when you were in a division with elite Bruins and Habs teams that kept beating you up, or having to lose your entire roster upon entry to a league that had to be dragged kicking and screaming into taking you in the first place. Yes, having a 12-win season will ruin your overall record. You couldn't even have a 12-win season in today's NHL if you wanted to with all your heart. The Nords were better than "horrible" and had great support even when they couldn't win a game. To say people only like the team because it's gone would certainly seem to devalue whatever experiences people did have with their team, which, even though they predated today's era of supersaturated sports fandom, were still probably pretty meaningful to them. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

habsfan1
Why do people like the webbed D logo?Because its a sharp and clever design. A sideways webbed duck foot styled into a "D"? Perfect. No need to have any silly or cartoonish ducks or Disney logos. Its simple, to the point, and is frankly just a cool design.I gave it a thumbs up back in 2006 and still do today. And I'm not even a Ducks fan.I like it too. It works for a team named "Ducks" without being cartoony. The colors may not be associated with any previous Mighty Ducks incarnations, but it's still a good-looking color palette. I believe the ones who don't like those colors don't complain because they're ugly, they complain because they're different. I think it's best to leave the pastel/cartoony look in the past, keep what they have now, and do some retro nights like the one that's coming up.Plus, they won a Cup under the current look. Just because a team was a losing team doesn't mean it can't come back. That's one of the worst argument i've seen. Here in Quebec, we want to have a team, we don't care if it's a good team or not, we just want one. Same thing for HartfordWho said anything about the Jets above? (and yes the Jets were pretty mediocre as well) My sole point in bringing it up is to show put the way people wax poetically now about things from the past, that werent that great the first time around, i.e. the Ducks old uniforms, now defunct franchises, etc.

This wasnt just pointed at those teams old fanbases, moreso hockey fans in general. I, at times, even find myself missing the Whalers and haven't a clue as to why since I was raised an Islanders fan? Still MIGHTY
From what I've read on other places, the Ducks team store doesn't have the names and numbers to personalize the Mighty Ducks jerseys yet.I'll ask on Sunday. They better have them, because I can finally get Hebert's #31 on the Mighty jersey I already own.Which btw, if anyone already has a Mighty Ducks jersey, there's almost no reason to go get this one. The only difference is the 20th patch and the material. (Plus the ones on the racks were $179. I got mine for $40 on EBay. Like come on) | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |

BrianLion
Funn,y I just saw a guy in Suburban Station in Center City, Philadelphia rocking a Ducks eggplant jersey. It had what I'm guessing was his own name (JERSEY FOUL!) and numbers on it. It was a CCM jersey and I assume for the old days. Weird coincidence. Still MIGHTY
I'm surprised, 'cause I thought CCM had nothing to do with NHL jerseys anymore.I'm surprised, 'cause I thought CCM had nothing to do with NHL jerseys anymore.Reebok owns CCM and they use CCM for their NHL Heritage jerseys (as you can see on the tags).I'm sure they're just selling CCMs, while the on ice jerseys will be EDGE.When the Devils did the throwbacks to the Christmas tree jerseys the on ice jerseys were Edge, but what the stores sold were the CCM versions. BigBubba
I, for one, absolutely love the "D" logo. The script sucks as a crest and all of the jerseys are underwhelming, but that is a strong logo right there. Nobody cares about your humungous-big signature. RyanMcD29
To be quite honest I never liked the Mighty Ducks logo as a kid, and I still to this day prefer the alternate Nike set to the regular set. That being said, I'd be cool with them bringing back the old purple uniforms as a full time alternate once they move the current alternates to, I would hope, full-time status as homes (which a matching away, of course)I personally would HATE to see the current alternates become the primary uniforms. Like Oddball said, the added orange is great, but the design of the jersey is terrible. That side is bad (and looked bad for the Sabres back in the day too), the phantom yoke is horrible, and the shoulder logo is uninspired.Right now, I'd give that jersey a D+, with the possibility of a C+ if they ditched that awful phantom yoke.I don't think the alternates themselves are top tier, but they are at the very least better than their home/away for at least popping a bit with the orange on the jersey and utilizing the webbed D over the script. Thus, I'd rather them make that the primary, get rid of the current primaries, and bring back the old purple for an alternate.I'd be intrigued by a re-coloring of sorts of the old Mighty Ducks jerseys in the current Ducks colors. I'm sure it's probably been done millions of times in the concepts board, and I'm not sure if it would actually look good but it would be worth a quick glance to make a judgement.
