spartacat_12 Posted April 7, 2013 Share Posted April 7, 2013 To me, there's just no point bringing up your best farmhand to sit on the bench behind your starting goalie. I more than see the reasoning behind calling up your best positional player if say, Kane or Ladd goes down, but if Pasquale's just gonna sit on the bench and eat seeds, then go to the next guy.Even if the goalie getting called up doesn't get to see any game action they can still benefit from spending time with the big club. They get to work with the best coaches in the organization, practice with some of the best players in the world, and get a general feel for what their future will be like, all without the added pressure of having to come in as a starter. Previous would-be owners would agree to buy the team for these sweet-heart deals and then get held up because even with those deals no potential investors would touch the franchise as long as it had to stay in its current location. Without those deals these bids could die as quietly as they began.
