Texas Tech is apparently bringing back the white helmets sans the black stripes:

looks like those black helmets are chrome

Not to me, but they may have finally gotten rid of the Bass boat finish.

Those are just gorgeous. I really can't find anything wrong with these.

Your right both of these helmets are gorgeous!

It's very tiring to hear how "nike didn't fix this" or if they do "how dare they change that!" - it gets old, especially when it's not a decision that Nike makes. There are plenty of times when Nike designers want to fix something and are told "no".

I'm sure that's true, but I think its just how criticism works. Most people that say these things aren't trying to place blame... they just see something they don't like and say so.

It works both ways, you know. I notice that when people praise a Nike design, you don't jump in to say "Yeah, that was totally the team's decision". :D

And the new numbers are a non-oblique version of the basketball numbers, just for the record.

Welcome to the last 5+ years on this board for me.

how is the striping on the orange discordant? and also, did you guys stop to think that that's florida's decision?

I thought of that & my assumptions of the Gator powers that be must be correct!

Also how can you not see that the striping is off on the orange

The Florida stripe is rendered so that the colors alternate. That the blue and white versions are just changed out on those two jerseys does not make the jersey "wrong" the blue and orange changed just like the blue and white does.

Prior to this orange jersey, Florida always had the colors in the same order regardless of the base color. It went orange, blue, white, blue orange on everything. This resulted in Brasher stripes on an orange background, Northwestern stripes on a blue background, and a "ghost" stripe on white (like Ohio State's home jerseys.) The stripes all looked different, but the order of colors was always the same. If they followed this, the orange jersey should have looked like an orange and blue version of the Chiefs home jerseys. Instead they went with Northwestern stripes on the orange jerseys which is now the only piece of their uniform that doesn't follow the striping order. It's just odd that a team that has made that decision to consistently apply their striping order decided to stray from it only on their alternate jersey.

Hey, I personally was all up on the Nike bandwagon until the introduced the sweat stain jersey, the see-through pants, and the horrible designs from Oregon in the last few years. The Pro Combat series was a great template, but these new "speed machine" uniforms absolutely suck and I am not trying to make fun of your company, but guess what not everyone likes Nike, just like not everyone likes Toyota's or Honda's.

Nevada picked up 2 more options

Is that a fading face mask on the while helmet? If so, it looks pretty bad ass.

IMO, I think its a kind-of-instagram-filter-effect, or the lighting on the picture so that gives the fade look on the face mask. Although I think the logo is weak, and could be outdone by many on these boards, I think the helmets look good

"The 0-2 pitch... SWING AND A MISS! STRUCK HIM OUT! THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE 2008 WORLD CHAMPIONS OF BASEBALL!"

Meh. The navy helmet they had was just fine. I get the silver one because Nevada traditionally wore a silver helmet, but the white one seems pointless. Hopefully this means they'll be getting new unis too, otherwise the silver helmet is totally out of place.

Why don't they do the orange helmet & pants that way then if the stripes are rendered to alternate?

I agree with you. That bugs the hell out of me on their orange jersey.

Your right both of these helmets are gorgeous!

The only complaint I have is that they clearly use the same decal for both the white and the black helmet. This is fine on the black helmet, but on the white, the two squares between the "T"s are black, when they should be white.

Otherwise agree that these are very strong helmets.

Good catch. I didn't even notice that.
