Small moment but it was nice.The way ESPN 3D-modified the CFB Playoff logo during the sequence made it a little more respectable than it actually is. A little. But yeah, how appropriate for the era to have the prologue and epilogue written by the Seminoles. It really comes full-circle when you think about it; they've won two titles of the era, lost two titles and were involved in their own BCS controversy (2000 season between them and Miami).Even better, the two teams that went to the championship four times: Oklahoma and Florida State. The tie game was in the bag. Would've had three cracks minimum at the endzone, would've run time and forced Florida State into using their timeouts.I mean, the thought truly did fleet in my mind at the moment, but I think you really just have to take your seven points and expect your D to be able to protect what amounted to 80 yards with only 71 seconds left. That they didn't is pretty damn appalling. I know that's the Heisman Trophy winner on the other side, but, at the risk of sounding cliche', it's situations just like that which you prep for on defense throughout the spring and summer (I know the converse is true as well). I'm sure some people really will question Tre' Mason as if he made some mistake, but I don't think you can turn down a lead in the waning moments when it's there for the taking. Maybe Bill Barnwell on Grantland will have some percentages that continue to indicate that my football acumen and instinct is, well, not very good. We need a 16-team playoff; 10 conference champions, 6 at large bids. Seeding can be determined by any method. Really doesn't matter. College Football may be the only sport that emphasizes your regular season performance the most. If you lose 1 game, you may very will just choke away your chance at a title, and you have to show up to play every single game to stay in the national title discussion. The current playoff keeps that and does one better by giving us the +1 we always wanted so the Oklahoma St.'s of the world could get a chance. 16 is just too many, it de-emphasizes the regular season a bit too much for my liking.
