In fact, dare I say I'd like to see Tech get a shot at Jameis and FSU. Would be his first game against a good defensive unit. I think Tech could have a good shot, at least better than Clemson or Miami.

Um... No.

You lost to Duke. DUKE

Wow. If only Tech decided to play like this the past 2 weeks, easily the best performance of the season for Tech. Now, we have a good shot to win the Coastal and get back to 10 wins, that's the hokie spirit!

Only if you win your third rate Bowl game.

And hey nobody wants to fire Kevin Wilson this week. Cool.

I don't consider Chick-Fil-A third rate. At least it beats the Insight Bowl.

You won't win the Peach Bowl.

Maybe not. Depends on the opponent, we'll likely get someone like UGA, Vandy, or Ole Miss. I'd say if Tech plays like we did last night, we could beat all of them. Recievers stepped up, Thomas got his balls back, running game was consistent. No turnovers. Those all haven't happened this season. In fact, dare I say I'd like to see Tech get a shot at Jameis and FSU. Would be his first game against a good defensive unit. I think Tech could have a good shot, at least better than Clemson or Miami. But, that's all better than being 4-5 and :censored: out of luck.

No, you'll get the SEC team that's pissed about missing the Sugar Bowl or BCS championship game.

And we didn't lose to Duke or Boston College.

UCF is getting the short end in the polls. They have a better resume than Louisville and beat them head-to-head, yet one is ranked #19 and the other is #13.

Well, see Louisville beat the :censored: out of Florida in a meaningless exhibition in January, so clearly that's better than anything Central Florida did.

The top 25 polls are such an enormous joke. Arizona State at 7-2 sits at 21 in the AP top 25, while 7-2 Wisconsin, who ASU beat, sits at 17. Why even bother having top 25 polls?

And we didn't lose to Duke or Boston College.

The Chick-Fil-A Bowl tends to get the 5th-best SEC team. This team usually isn't even near sniffing a BCS bowl game.

Here's their pecking order:

BCS/Sugar Bowl

Capital One Bowl

Outback Bowl

Cotton Bowl

Chicak-Fil-A Bowl

Gator Bowl

Music City Bowl

Liberty Bowl

BBVA Compass Bowl

Independence Bowl

This year that's one of A&M, LSU, and Crackalacky. I can think of reasons for all of those teams to be pissed. What say you?

It is only the coach's poll. The Harris Poll has it correct with UCF one spot ahead Louisville. The AP also has UCF ahead. It only proves that the coach's assistant or SIDs, who cast the ballots do not watch other games.

However, it seems as if there is a shot that UCF will been kept low to allow a nonAQ into the BCS in its final year. The Wednesday MAC-tion with unbeaten NIU vs. one loss Ball St. will play a role too.

That whole post was with the assumption that Tech played the way we played against Miami last night, I know if we play like we did against Duke we'll lose 55-0, I'm not as dumb as you think I am.

Right, which I only posted because the Coaches is used in the formula. I saw the AP poll and agree with it.

For personal reasons, UCF having a higher ranking and BCS finish is important for South Carolina.

Look Junior, here's a secret. Indiana football isn't supposed to be good. Virginia Tech claims to always be good. If there was a B1G "wheel of derp" like the ACC's "wheel of derp" "lose to Indiana" would be where "lose to Duke" is.

Oh yea, about the Polls.

The polls base everything off what you were last week, save for the preseason. Say, Wisconsin was #17 last week and they beat a decent Iowa team 31-10. And let's say the #15 and #16 teams lose, and one of them happens to be UCLA, they lost a really close game to #23 Arizona State. So Wisconsin would move up to 15, and ASU would move up to 16 under this theory. They won't care if ASU beat Wisconsin earlier, they're just basing it off of last week. If Wisconsin's far enough ahead of ASU in the past week's poll. That's a serious problem with the polls. I'm holding a secret hope that the 16-team BCS Conferences end up making breaking off of the BCS and having a new, different kind of poll. That ranks each team based off of their performance each week and the previous rankings will hold no factor.

If USCe loses to Clemson and they also make the BCS, you would been 1-1 against BCS bound and would feel how?

I don't understand how the success of an opponent makes you feel better as one may have won an individual game. That is like saying you had won the season series against the Red Sox, so it is ok you/your team finished 4th in your division.

LSU and Texas A&M have been eliminated from the West race. South Carolina needs Georgia and Missouri to lose another game. All three have long been eliminated from playing for the BCS National Championship.

Any sort of "pissed off"-ness will be gone by the bowl game. Texas A&M and LSU are gonna beat up on each other in a couple weeks. Should SC not win the East, they'll take their frustration out on Clemson.

Does anybody know when the FCS playoffs start? Last time I checked the official NCAA website, they only had the FCS Championship game date listed. Not the rest of the tournament.

See, the BCS knows what they're doing. ASU's ahead of Wisconsin, UCF's ahead of Louisville, man the AP voters must be freakin idiots.

Many AP voters are on record staying the vote on who is playing best week to week. There is a good reason why the AP told the BCS to stop using their poll in 2004, when you were in preschool.

Also, don't give the BCS love when one computer formula (Sagarin) started the year using margin of victory which violated their rules and is still tweaking his new formula.
