Graham_Clayton
When Scottish side Hibernian signed striker Derek Riordan in 2008, he was given No. 01 as No. 10 was already being worn by Colin Nish:
Stampman
22 is an unusual number for a QB, but I'm pretty sure Flutie was already covered in this thread.I'm prett sure he was.He wore #20 in Calgary and #2 in TO (Along with #7 in Buffalo--because I saved the pictures together.) Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

Graham_Clayton
Not the number, but the font and styling of the numbers. In January 2014, Chilean top division football club Club Deportivo Palestino had their new strip banned by the Chilean FA. The problem was that the number 1 was styled to represent the outline of the state of Palestine prior to the creation of the Israel in 1948:Several clubs and members of the Jewish community objected, and the club were also fined for the new design. Soarindude
Johnny Neves of the Fargo-Moorehead Twins had a surname that spelled "seven" backwards and wore an appropriate number. Now that is amusing. Kinda wish stuff like this still existed. Back when sports were just about playing sports.

queso fundido
Darrell Waltrip ran the Tim Flock Special as a memorial to Tim Flock. It had the #300, Tim Flock's old number. NASCAR would not allow three digit numbers, so it had to be changed to 17 for the race.
rrfb
I believe Aaron Brooks and Darrell Arthur were the first NBA teammates to wear 0 and 00. Supposedly they had to ask the league for approval.
VandyDelphia Mike
Not as clear as the Denver example, but the Sixers did briefly employ Spencer Hawes as double zero, and Jeremy Pargo as single zero. DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
Interesting... I believe I recall Brendan Haywood having to switch from #00 to #33 when Gilbert Arenas joined the Wizards and he wanted #0. I guess the NBA has become more lenient on that. Whittier S
I'm having trouble digging up the reference, but the St. Paul Saints had a publicity stunt a few years back where all the players wore the same number for one game to promote some product. Of course, the Saints are renowned for publicity stunts. Â Â
