I actually got in contact with SDSU (my Alma Mater) to see if they had any interst in starting a vintage or alumni line using such a logo. They said that they had been discussing doing something like that for some time since they can't use their older logos anymore (Warner Brothers Lawsuit). I sent the logos in to the Apparell Manager and she really liked them, but needed to send them to the licensing department for approval. But, the licensing department said that they "since this design was never actually used as the university mascot, it's kind of hard to use something like that now and call it vintage."
