rsaline
I saw Broncos' Chris Kuper snap his ankle in half on a run up the middle by Willis McGahee a few years back. One minute there was a running back in the hole, the next there were a pair of legs in the hole, one with a sideways foot.
smzimbabwe
I guess this counts as an injury, but at the time (around 1990), my brother was playing high school football, they had a road game in Burlington, and there was a farm right next to the stadium. During the game, a farmer walked out to the pasture with a shotgun and shot one of his cows for whatever reason. So technically, I went to a football game where a death took place. It might be a little confusing and really weird at first, but it's actually a great movie. It's Napoleon Dynamite, if you weren't sure... stumpygremlin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corey_Scott This guy attempted a motorcycle jump at a Monster Jam event in 1997 at the Orange Bowl. He missed the net he was supposed to catch and fell to his death. 10-year-old me was there in person for this.

rsaline
Just remembered I was at the game where Juan Nicasio broke his neck on a comeback line drive by Ian Desmond. Probably one of the more terrifying experiences I've ever had at a baseball game. I still kind of root for the guy (just a little bit) now that he's recovered and made a decent comeback to the game. BeerGuyJordan
Not a player, but my family was at the spring training game where Johnson obliterated that dove. Dogeshak
During one of my college baseball games, a teammate squared for a bunt. The pitcher threw up and in, as most are told to do. The ball ended up in the guys face before he could turn his head back. The fastball broke his nose, and we had to stop the game for about an hour. It was a pretty big mess around home plate. Graham_Clayton
Nearly 30 years ago, but still nasty to look at. Australian cricketer Geoff Lawson had his jaw broken by Curtly Ambrose during an Australia v West Indies Test Match back in 1988. Lawson was wearing a batting helmet, but no protective visor. Today every batsman wears a helmet and visor.
BroncoBuff
Nothing compares to Clint Malarchuk, nothing. No amount of broken-facing-sideways-bone-dramatics holds a candle to a carotid artery gushing blood onto the ice - ounces, then ounces, then ounces - beat by beat by beat. ,
