Waffles
The creatively-named BCS replacement has four options for a logo now up at http://www.collegefootballplayoff.com/Voting ends on Monday, April 29.
DCDuck
All of these are terrible. The worst part is that I'm sure they paid millions to whoever designed them, just like they paid millions to whoever came up with the name "College Football Playoff". BlackBolt3
I'm fairly sure this might be fake. Look at the website. But if I would vote for one, it would be #4.
JPDesign
I guarantee you nobody got millions for this. All four of these are very amateur. They'd be more well-suited as mid-major conference championships. That said, I voted number three...lipstick on a pig.
thespleenenator
Voted for number 3 as well. Looks the least amateur out of all of them. Why you make fun of me? I make concept for Auburn champions and you make fun of me. I cry tears.Chopping off the dicks of Filipino boys and embracing causes that promote bigotry =/= strong moral character. mbannon92
Yeah, definitely fake. One, they probably won't leave the logo for such a huge event up to fan voting, and two, there's no way this thing won't have a corporate sponsor (which will insert it's branding all up in that logo). chanman
Stupid name, stupid logo ideas. Oh well, I voted for number 3. At least they are finally having a playoff. Good thing cowboys stadium is hosting the first championship.
powersurge
Let me know when they add a flaming bag of $#!t as the fifth choice and maybe I will make a choice.
jgiff17
1 cuz it feels old school the rest look like the Russell designer tried to hard in paint 1 looks like it would have been for the liberty bowl or something 30+ years ago

meetthemets
Any chance this could be real? The video on the website looked like it might be legit. If it is real, these logos are a joke.
JPDesign
A lot of the big football analysts are reporting this site on twitter (Joe Schad, Bruce Feldman, Etc.), FWIW. The official Big XII Conference twitter posted a link too.So it's either real, and terrible. Or an excellent troll-job.

gdu
It is real, but the fact that so may think it isn't says a lot. Some company desinged 1, 2 and 4. ESPN designed 3. They are all terrible.
Lights Out
#1 is actually a pretty brilliant logo, that would be my choice. The other three suck. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/

vmd9
It worries me that #4 is leading. The concept isn't terrible, but the illustration looks like it was done in MS Paint. I was sort of underwhelmed but if I had to pick, I'd say #1. While the type needs some work, the retro feel was interesting. A part of me is just wishing these are still in the planning stage and will get freshened up.Feel like a nice clean (no gradients) illustration of the crystal ball would have been perfect. Much like the championship trophies in the NHL, NBA, MLB, and NFL, it is iconic and could stand the test of time.
cowbell204
It's like someone took a look at the new Super Bowl logo and thought "that needs to be dulled down a bit"/.
