MLB teams that need new unis.

Washington: Stick with red as the main colour, using the "DC" logo

Red is already the Nats' main color. Navy is nothing more than an accent at this point.

As for the "DC" logo, it has been completely eliminated from the team's identity. Why, I have no idea. Unlike certain teams (I'm looking at you, Redskins), the Nats actually play in the District. But I suppose it was kind of confusing to some people who can't put two and two together, or purists who like to point out that the team is not the "District of Columbia Nationals".

I liked having the DC logo for the alternate jersey/hat. It'd be nice for them to go back to that. Stick to the curly W for the main uniforms, but have a DC alt. Red or Navy.

Also wouldn't mind the Nats axing the patriotic navy alternates and picking up a navy road alternate. Either with Washington in cursive or maybe even put the DC logo on em.

What the Nats need to do is make a Patriotic alt cap (and helmet) to go along with the jersey. Throwing on the road cap with the Patriotic alt is absolutely atrocious, especially when playing at home.

I wouldn't mind a "DC" alt hat if they come up with a good script logo to match the current uni style. A plain style like the Dodgers of Padres might work too.

I think the only thing that the Nats need to do is ditch their navy hat w/ the red brim. I know that blue/red is an over-used scheme in the MLB, but those are strikingly similar to the Cards, Braves, Angels BP, Indians, and Red Sox.

As a Yankee fan myself, mark me in the group of "I love the Road uniforms". I think if you took away the outlines on the wordmark & numbers and removed the cuffs.... what you're left with is what most people around here hate -- the new Sawx road look. Drab, Drab, Drab!

They look just fine. I don't wanna look like the Red Sox

Would people be terribly opposed if the Yankees used a road uniform that was a carbon copy of the home set, just grey?

I've always wanted to see that. I think it'd look good, and if you're known for wearing pinstripes, you might as well go full out.

Yeah that too. Looks way too much like the Braves. They have a new red alt cap w/ blue brim that they wear with the red alt jerseys. That should be their road caps, or just stick with red caps.

My two biggest problems with the Angels set is the ugly red alt with the "phantom" letters/numbers and the lack of a navy-crowned cap. Fixing those two would go a long way in improving their set.

For the Padres, I love both brown/orange and brown/yellow. It really depends on how they're executed, but you really can't go wrong with either.

The Brewers' royal/athletic gold colour scheme was far superior to navy/metallic gold and the BiG is one of my favourite sports logos of all-time. The uniforms from that era, however, all sucked. I never got all the love for the "Motre Bame" set, but I think the scripts and number font could go somewhere. I actually don't mind their current set too much, save for the crappy alternates and the fact that the "Brewers" script is on the road jersey. I like it less now than I did a year or two ago, but I still think it's alright. It's by no means great, and I wouldn't mind a change, but I don't think it's all that bad.

Tampa never should've went away from what they had previously...not only was that one of the most distinctive MLB (!) identities, it was one of the most distinctive in all of the American major pro four period.

That's just my two tarnished copper coins, anyway.

I know that this would never happen but I think it would be just totally bad @$$ for them to take the current Bucs colors and apply it to a baseball uni. We've all seen how good the St. Pete Pelicans looked. Imagine if they threw in a tiny amount of black (very tiny, almost Cincinnati-esque) and went with grey away unis that were a bit darker and with a more pewter hue to them. Maybe I'm way off base but that would not only be totally unique for baseball but just beautiful.

Well they wear them on patriotic holidays which is when every team wears the league-wide patriotic hats, so it would kind of pointless. I know they also wear them on Labor Day and I think they have a special military day too, but still it would be kind of pointless to create an alternate cap that they'd only wear like twice a year.

How would that be any less pointless than making a jersey they only wear like twice a year?

They wear them more than just when other teams wear the league-wide patriotic caps.

Yeah I mentioned that, but they wear them what, like two times more?

Padres - Brown / yellow. I agree that their current look is so lifeless and boring.

Reds - dump the black

Angels - Change the name back to California Angels and go back to the early 90's look with the "CA: on the caps, but put the halo on top like their original caps had.

Cardinals - Road - Navy caps, St Louis on the jerseys. Alternate - Cardinals script, and wear the early Musial era caps with them - Navy crown, red STL, red bill similar to the current BP caps.

Rays - go back to the dark green / light blue

Astros - shooting star on home unis

Giants - get rid of SAN FRANCISCO road jersey and switch the alternate SF grays to the full time road jersey.

Phillies - Current look but use maroon instead of red

Diamondbacks - Return to their original colors

Nationals - move to Montreal, change name to Expos, change navy blue to royal blue, use pinwheel style caps.

Pirates - Bring back pillbox caps

Royals - powder blue road uniforms, jerseys and pants. Metallic gold trim on uniform lettering on both home and road.

Twins - Get rid of home white pinstripe uni and use alternate cream as primary home uni.

Braves - Get rid of the navy jersey and road cap.

Cubs - Bring back red bill road cap

My number one remains the Brewers. Go retro, start anew, either way it's time for a new look.

I've always wanted the Brewers to go with a green and metallic gold color scheme. Just seems more "beer-like" for lack of a better word.

***SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT***

This is really unique and interesting. I would still rather see the Brewers in royal blue & "gold" (yellow), but this is really cool too.

Rangers - Pick one color or the other (preferably blue) and get rid of all the black drop shadows.

Astros - Add a shooting star to all uniforms

Royals - Dodgers came first. Do something like this. :D

Twins - I'd like to see them use Vikings colors (purple & "gold" aka yellow).

Indians - Pick one thing. Are you the Wahoo cursive Indians? Or are you the block-lettered C Indians?

Tigers - Add some bit of orange to the home uniforms.

Rays - Dark green, obviously.

Red Sox - Go back to the old roads with "Boston" in red outlined in navy.

Yankees - Get rid of the white outlines on the road uniform.

Padres - Brown and [yellow and/or orange]. obviously.

Rockies - Purple, obviously.

Diamondbacks - Keep the color scheme but change the font, lose "D'Backs", and use the "db" snake head more.

Brewers - They don't NEED it, but they'd be better if they went blue & yellow full time.

Reds - Either drop the black or use it consistently and tastefully as an outline.

Marlins - Teal, obviously.

Phillies - Maroon, obviously.

Braves - Lose all the alts, go back to basics. Maybe add an alt based on the 70s Hank Aaron uniforms.

Lastly, the Mariners need to NOT drop teal for gold. No no no.

I'll just stick to the NL, cause I'm an NL guy and it's 90% of the baseball I watch.

As a Cardinal fan, I'd like to see the blue hat with the red bill... perhaps the default road hat and then as the Sunday home hat. That'd be really cool. But I have no complaints about anything they wear now and haven't for some time. But they need to stop retiring numbers. It's getting ridiculous seeing all these new guys with numbers in the 60s and 70s.

Brewers - watched them today and I think they got to dump the Times New Roman or whatever it is. They've been wearing those for more than 10 years now... they just look tired. I actually would favor royal and gold with the BiG logo if it could be updated somehow. Some have suggested the old interlocking bat and MB green-trim look they had in the 90s, but I never cared for that set at all. There's already enough green in Wisconsin with the Packers and Bucks.

Rockies - see them a lot because I live here. I just think their set looks tired now. While watching them play against the Yankees, I realized that their uniforms are basically Yankees uniforms with a little bit of purple. I really think the purple needs to be the dominant color. Nobody else uses it. I'd probably go a little darker than the shade they use now though.

D-Backs - just not a fan of any uniform they've ever had, really. What they have now is better than what they started with, but that's not saying much.

Phillies - they have nice uniforms now, but I'd love to see the maroon come back. Even if it's just a maroon version of the current set.

Marlins - Burn them and start over.

Padres - Trying to think of something interesting to do here. Instead of doing brown, maybe they could explore some kind of bronze or copper color.... something close to brown that isn't brown. I realize navy blue is a much "safer" color, but it makes them boring, predictable, and invisible. The Padres don't have much identity these days... yes, they looked like giant cheese-covered pretzels once upon a time, but at least you knew who was playing.

Cincinnati - current unis are OK but I'm not a fan of the lettering/numbers they have.

I guess a common theme with me is "tired".... I know change for the sake of change is sometimes dangerous, but there's a few looks out there that I don't think are or were ever remarkable enough to have lasted as long as they have, like the Brewers and Rockies. They aren't really terrible uniforms, but I'm surprised that they've been around for 10+ years.

"Invisible" is a really great word to describe the Padres.

That is perfect. They are as boring and generic as it gets. They honestly have very little going for them:

1. Bland design

2. Bad team

3. Uninspiring players

They've had so much personality over the years and have gradually lost it all. Sad.
