TBGKon
http://shop.mlb.com/....1452910.704340 Evidently after 2 years (and two purchases from me...one for the collection and one to wear) the MLB shop and New Era decide to actually sell an actual Rays throwback cap That ticks me off, I bought one at the Trop in 2012 and its like the O's home cap with 2 light blue front panels, while the player model had the tapered look.I am very tempted to buy this one as I like the tapered look better. larrypep
But we're they the US made on field polyester caps, or the crappy wool Chinese knockoffs? They had a TON of those while I was there, and I was pretty close to grabbing one with the 98 World Series patch, but it just looked too cheap to justify that kinda money. I can't find the US made Poly TBTC hats anywhere, even Hat Club.I didn't look at them but it seems like most of the throwback caps they had that I did look at (mainly the brown ones) were all Chinese poly caps. Next time I'm in Hat Club here locally I'll take a look, they had the 98 caps parked with the rest of the gameday caps, maybe with a little luck these will be American made. FWIW, the 48 cap I bought last night was made in the USA poly.
chipper
Looks a lot like a golf shirt from chest up, but overall I like the look. 1902 Cleveland Bronchos (per Baseball Reference) throwback uniforms.

I looked at one the other day and turned it down because the fit was so awful. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Ted Cunningham
Which one is more accurate? The Majestic version or the Ebbets version? Ebbets have always held themselves up (and Paul Lukas has as well) as being ridiculously meticulous with detail. They are. But they still make mistakes, even big ones. Such is difficulty of this research.I was looking at Lukas's site today and he had these photos on there which confirms that Majestic's version is more accurate. I still think I like the Ebbets version of the script though.EDIT: It was Phil who wrote today's article. Not Paul. It's this one:FWIW, this was what EFF came up with lin 2011:
Gothamite
Do we know for a fact when that photo was taken? Many of these teams made changes every season; perhaps the Majestic and EFF are reproducing different uniforms. And FWIW, Majestic's work this season has been impeccable for the Brews. They matched my 1913 jersey perfectly. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
larrypep
You know what, you're right. Majestic is reproducing the 1948 uniform, EFF is reproducing the 1949 uniform. The picture is probably from 1949, Luke Easter is the player on the left and '49 was his first season with the Padres. Still would like to see for myself if those '49 unis were indeed black. facegab
I was lucky to get my Rays on field tapered fauxback cap through a connection at the team. It was one of the left over first batch for the players. $45 but USA made. probably the rarest in my collection. Those Chinese caps are TERRIBLE! tubby34
Looks like they're gonna wear these...Can't see them wearing the white home- if I heard or read correctly they will be playing Milwaukee in Milwaukee. Old School Fool
Damn. What a wasted opportunity.Heck, even the '68 Marlins had Jim Palmer. And the same sleeve patch.Well, you just posted a pic of them with an orange brim so it may be used, but they wore the version I posted in 2002 and it was the only one I knew of with an orange brim. It just seems like they would go with the more recent option. I'd love that '68 uniform, though.
