**UNVEILED** New Dallas Stars logo and uniforms (earlier logo leaks confirmed)

Recommended Posts

These are just as bad as Carolina's uniforms, IMO. Once again, bland and unremarkable, trying too hard to be "traditional and iconic" for a Southern team.

Well they are an original '67 expansion team after all.

Yeah, but the traditional aesthetic still doesn't work for a very un-traditional hockey market like Dallas. These would be perfect if the Stars were still in Minnesota.

Fair point, but the Stars to make it a point to honour their Minnesota roots, so this isn't as out of left field.

These are actually aren't half bad. I thought the loss of gold would hurt the set, but putting a stronger emphasis on the green over black and lightening the shade makes the set look really nice. It's a little stripped down, but it's nowhere hear as bland as I expected. Good work, Stars!

I like these. Could be a late iconic arrival for the Dallas era.

I've seen so many green Blackhawks jerseys (which I hate... sorry) that I definitely get that vibe from the back of that Stars home, but I can live with it.

As far as complaints about the star and D styling, my guess is there are a lot of trademarked stars out there (some in their own metro area) and even D-stars, so there's probably only so much you can do. That silver looks like it has some texture to it, which would be cool, but it might just be the photo.

Overall, it's solid. Probably long overdue. Definitely an upgrade from the current stuff. (And green and gold to the Wild?)

A simpler design is okay if your colors are unique. That's why Stars works and Canes doesnt. Plus, even with minor quirks, Stars is a huge upgrade. Carolina took a huge step in the wrong direction.

The Dallas era already had an iconic look.

I may be in the minority but besides the jersey being primarily green, I hated those. Overall, I feel the new look is nice. Its simple and the green is very refreshing. It is 1000 x better than the crap that they have been wearing the past few years.

That number font is so weird. I feel like that bottom left corner on the 9 shouldn't even be there.

They're supposed to be like the serif block style that the Cowboys used to wear, but a bit more contemporary.

That look was only iconic because the team that wore it was so successful. It was always a bit busy, colors were too dark, and it always really bothered me having an italicized star inside a star outline that's not italicized.

And that jersey, even with the All-Star cut, still says (as Viper just put it) "last days of the North Stars" to me because of the logo. But I'm old and remember when they switched to it.

Points for the Cup win, though. :)

The NHL continues to go back in time with it's design, which is good in a way (could be worse), but while the Hurricanes flopped with theirs, Dallas actually surprised me. The logo's neither a hit or miss, but the point is that it vastly destroys their previous look. Good job.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.
