Clint Malarchuk 30 for 30

Recommended Posts

ESPN recently made a 30 for 30 Shorts video about Clint Malarchuk and his life after hockey. For those who don't know, Malarchuk was a Buffalo Sabres goalie who had his neck sliced open by a skate blade. I found this short film to be very interesting to watch, and I learned a lot about Malarchuk.

I'll watch it tonight. Not looking forward to seeing his throat vomit blood 15 feet across the ice again, but...

"What if I told you an NHL goalie almost got decapitated on the ice."

The only disappointing thing about this was the fact that it was labeled as a "short," and not a full-featured film.

Other than that, interesting film.

That's crazy. I thought the incident ended his career. Great short.

Even last week's Game of Thrones was like, yeah we don't need to see that.

Aside from having to watch him bleed everywhere...still rough to watch every time...a great short!

Anyone else having problems with video working?

Not sure if it's with my computer or settings or possibly because I'm in Canada.

Everytime I go play a pick-up game I think about Malarchuk and Zednik. There's no medical personnel watching our games. If somebody takes a skate blade to the jugular they'll bleed out. Granted, we aren't as physical so bodies aren't flying around the same way, but accidents can always happen.

It feels like it should happen more often.
