NFL '13 SEASON THREAD

So, umm, can any of you football wizards catch me up to speed as far as what some of the key developments, great performers, and duds were today? Various assorted :censored: left me incapacitated for much of the day, basically only allowing me to catch the last 35:00 or so of many of the early games (excluding, go figure, the Seahawks/Colts game) and only the last quarter of that insane Broncos/Cowboys game.

(selfish rambling spoiler'd - no one cares to read this.)

And, while I'm at it, I'd really like it if people stopped :censored: ing with my Sundays. There is but one day each week where there is always mid-afternoon, and almost only mid-afternoon activity, that I'd like to have not perturbed. It figures that Sunday, through no fault of its (or my) own is almost always the fall day. As glad as I am that I got to see the end of the Broncos game, as well as the Pirates game, it irks the hell out of me what I missed instead. My Sunday's from September through January are sacred. Quit :censored: ing with them.

/end rant

Yeah but they also started 4-0 last year, then lost 12 straight. So technically, they were above .500 this time last year too...

Cardinals above .500. Nobody saw this coming.

I kind of di.....

.....nah, I can't say that with a straight face.

(Shameless plug alert!!!) Believe it or not, on BAFS, Zach and I actually said that we thought the Cards could be a .500 team and possibly contend for a wild card.

and used to :censored: both Jessica Simpson (in her prime) and Carrie Underwood.

Romo still found a way to screw that up too.

While his wife isn't as good looking as Carrie, she is still gorgeous. So, he isn't exactly failing in that regard.

Considering Romo's history, I'd call that "settling" -- just as the Cowboys organization settled on him as their starter since '06.

Ever hear of NFL.com? Or ESPN.com? Or Yahoo Sports? Do I need to go on?

That...

that wasn't the point at all. Reading some non-contextual numbers in box scores or looking at one-line play-by-play lines isn't going to tell me anything than the bare minimums, and I'd be lowering my self standards a great deal to be content with the most bare bones of information.

It's not like I'm begging or anything. If nobody wants to (or can), then that's the way it goes. I myself could do my part by not being a dirt cheap schmuck and shelling out money to be privy to some information if I wanted it so bad. But if I was content using the sites you mention, I wouldn't have even posed the question in the first place. And I'd still feel just as out of the loop as I did before, too.

(and if I sound like a high self standards jack :censored: , well, then that's nothing new. I established that flaw many postings ago.)

So what do the Texans do with Schaub? Do they have to stick with him at this point?

I'd draft a QB with their first to be honest. Makes perfect sense, they have a old and subpar QB and no other glaring needs on the team. Maybe Tajh Boyd? Aaron Murray would be more realistic though. As for Schuab, Well, he's not terrible. But he's not going to win you a title. And that team is. Tough spot, but drafting a QB would definitely be a smart move.

Way too soon to bench Schaub. Yeah, he's had some duds lately, but his track record should allow for him to have a long leash. People are overacting to his current slump, as if he's Mark Sanchez post buttfumble or something.
