Growing up in PHX, I prefered the old-time jerseys.

I wasn't mad when they updated them in 92, but I always missed the originals.

Technically, those aren't the original unis. The Suns didn't introduce the Western font until the 1973-74 season. Before, they had a funky 60s font:

The Suns have only had 3 (well, 4 after tonight) styles of uniforms. Each one of those uniforms has undergone minor tweaks over the years they were active, but the basic overall design and layout stayed the same.

Some are pretty psychedelic and some are psychodelic.

I especially love the Rambis templates.

I was looking at these yesterday. I agree they probably chose the best of that bunch. Smart choice to go with a rise sunburst rather than the proposed plummeting one (which actually might be more appropriate on our new uniforms, though). Interesting to see they considered going with v-neck originally, as well as an all black-and-orange scheme and pointy letters. They were right the first time in not adopting those changes, too bad they're making up for that now. Just goes to show the difference between Colangelo and Sarver.

I actually really like those uniforms, but it might be the Rambis template. In the 70s or 80s, these would've been phenomenal. Here it is (or close to it) on a different (A.C. Green?) template:

Ditto. I would have rather seen something like this rather than what they are doing, and I think they could have made it work if they wanted to. For anyone in the PHX area, is there a lot of sentiment towards the '80s look?...or do most people just want the sunburst back?

I personally prefer the look of the original uniform style worn from '68-'91. That's my all-time favorite Phoenix Suns look. When the new uniforms were first rumored, I wanted an updated version of this uniform. The 'sunburst' uniform is probably most popular among a lot of fans since it's most memorable with it being the Barkley era uniform. That's the time a ton of people jumped on the bandwagon and first became fans of the Suns.

I actually don't mind this. My only gripe is that the number is a bit too far from the sun streak.

There's no point to the streaks if they don't connect to a sunburst. They should have just styled these uniforms after the '68-'91 uniforms. They could have put the wordmark straight across the front and left out any lines or 'bursts'. That would have been nice. Instead, it looks half-finished.
